Villeroy reportedly said that the recent crypto market volatility \u2014 likely referring to some stablecoins depegging from the U.S. dollar and prices of major tokens dropping \u2014 had been a \u201cwake-up call\u201d for global regulators. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cEurope paved the way with MiCA,\u201d said Villeroy at an emerging markets conference in Paris, referring to the European parliament\u2019s legislation aimed at forming a regulatory framework on crypto. \u201cWe will probably [&#8230;] discuss these issues among many others at the G7 meeting in Germany this week.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Bank of France governor <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.banque-france.fr\/en\/intervention\/welcome-remarks-multipolarity-and-role-euro-international-financial-system\">added<\/a> in a speech to the Emerging Market Forum in Paris on Tuesday:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cCrypto assets could disrupt the International Financial System if they are not regulated, overseen and interoperable in a consistent and <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ropriate manner across jurisdictions.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>According to the G7 website, finance ministers and central bank governors will <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.g7germany.de\/g7-en\/current-information\/g7-meetings-finance-ministers-2014864\">meet<\/a> in Germany from May 18-20 to discuss policies related to member nations\u2019 recovery and financial stability due to the COVID-19 pandemic, \u201cshaping the upcoming transformation processes in the context of digitalisation and climate neutrality,\u201d and business policy at the International Monetary Fund.
