The 60-year-old UK comic dropped the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/etcanada.com\/news\/897324\/ricky-gervais-jokes-about-aids-cancer-and-hitler-in-new-netflix-special-supernature-humour-gets-us-over-bad-stuff\/\">anti-PC bombshell while promoting his new special, \u201cSupernature,\u201d<\/a> on \u201cThe Late Show With Stephen Colbert.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cSmart people know you can deal with anything, particularly when dealing with something like irony,\u201d \u201cThe Office\u201d creator told Colbert, 68.<\/p>\n<p>During the interview, Gervais explained that he\u2019d added new material to the special, which he\u2019d tried out on the road during the coronavirus quarantine. Colbert then asked if the comedian had to switch up his material due to his two-year layoff from standup during the lockdown.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s when Gervais dropped the bombshell. \u201cIt [his comedy] was always evolving,\u201d the funnyman replied, \u201cThere was a thought, \u2018Will this be out of date?\u2019 And then I realized that when you\u2019re dealing with, you know, famine, AIDS, cancer, Hitler, those dudes are evergreen.
