In fall 2021 specifically, \u201cblack wedding dress\u201d was searched more times than \u201cwhite wedding dress\u201d on Google.<\/p>\n<p>Wedding gown and formalwear mega-chain <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.davidsbridal.com\">David\u2019s Bridal<\/a> is currently featuring a selection of custom-order versions of their <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.davidsbridal.com\/SearchDisplay?catalogId=10051&amp;facets=productColorToFamily%253A%2522Black_Black%2522&amp;langId=-1&amp;resultType=products&amp;productSize=small&amp;pageSize=30&amp;storeId=10052&amp;pageNumber=1&amp;pageView=grid&amp;categoryId=3002605\">popular dress styles<\/a> in black.<\/p>\n<p>Laura McKeever, senior manager of brand PR at David\u2019s Bridal, told CNN that brides are leaning toward going dark on their most joyous day as a way to buck tradition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is by far our favorite trend and we are loving it. They are picking unique venues, they\u2019re wearing sneakers and having food trucks at their wedding,\u201d McKeever stated. She also revealed that David\u2019s Bridal increased its selection of differently colored dresses by 30% this year, up from 10% in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Other colors that are added to the paint palette include blue, champagne, purple and red.<\/p>\n<p>The tradition of rocking white frocks to walk to the altar stretches back to the era of Queen Victoria. She famously wore the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.verywellmind.com\/color-psychology-white-2795822\">shade resembling purity<\/a> when she married Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg, who was also her first cousin, in 1840.
