Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roved an anti-Israel resolution supporting the pro-Palestinian boycott, divestment and sanctions movement.<\/p>\n<p>The professors on May\u00a012 voted to endorse the BDS resolution that previously passed the CUNY Law Student Government Association last December, a spokesperson for the law school said.<\/p>\n<p>The vote was taken a day before CUNY Law School\u2019s graduation ceremony\u00a0last Friday.<\/p>\n<p>No other details about the vote were available on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The resolution discusses the disputed territories occupied by Israel in the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe unceasing military occupation and colonization of Palestine by the Israeli state is a manifestation of both settler colonialism and structural racism, supported politically, financially, and militarily by the U.S,\u201d  the resolution said.<\/p>\n<p>The resolution demanded that CUNY sever ties with Israel and accused the school of being \u201cdirectly complicit in the ongoing apartheid, genocide, and war crimes perpetrated by the State of Israel against the Palestinian people through its investments in and contracts with companies profiting off of Israeli war crimes.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/GettyImages-1320569032.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"CUNY students of Palestinian descent and their allies hold a rally to protest the Israeli occupation of Palestine and demand that the university system divest from Israel, May 28, 2021 at John Jay College.\" class=\"wp-image-22325336\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/GettyImages-1320569032.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=2048 2048w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/GettyImages-1320569032.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1536 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/GettyImages-1320569032.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/GettyImages-1320569032.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>CUNY students of Palestinian descent and their allies hold a rally to protest the Israeli occupation of Palestine and demand that the university system divest from Israel on May 28, 2021.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Andrew Lichtenstein\/Corbis via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The group called for the school to terminate student exchange programs with Israel and to join the Boycott Divest Sanctions movement against the nation.<\/p>\n<p>The Israel-Palestinian dispute has raged in recent years among faculty and students at a number of City University of New York campuses. Students on both sides claim they have been subjected to bullying and discrimination.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, CUNY administrators \u2014 including Chancellor Felix Matos Rodriguez and campus presidents \u2014 recently\u00a0returned from a mission to Israel. Pro-Israel professors quit CUNY\u2019s Professional Staff Congress union in protest.<\/p>\n<p>Not even ice cream has escaped the heated debate.
