It insists on control, to the point of systematically eliminating or co-opting anything that might serve as an independent power center. (Their fear is justified: \u201cMusic clubs\u201d turned out to be a major factor in Czechoslovakia\u2019s 1989 anticommunist Velvet Revolution.) And it insists on not merely spreading BS, but on requiring people to repeat and endorse its BS as a sign of submission.<\/p>\n<p>Musk is thus a twin threat. As the sometime richest man in the world, he has a lot of power, and it\u2019s not under anyone else\u2019s control. And he\u2019s a nerd, with a nerd\u2019s low tolerance for bull. Where more <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social<\/a>ly \u201cpolished\u201d people would go out of their way to show fealty to leftist tropes popular among the Gentry Class regardless of their absurdity, Musk is h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>y to point out that the emperor has no clothes.<\/p>\n<p>When I was a kid, comic books and novels were full of \u201ctycoons\u201d \u2014 brash, vigorous men who had made fortunes and were out to change the world. But in real life, tycoons were pretty scarce. It was an era when IBM was the biggest tech company, and everything was done by committee. They speak and act on their own, and they don\u2019t let themselves be constrained by the conventions of less capable people.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n    <\/aside>\n<p>Musk is our greatest tycoon, and while NASA can\u2019t seem to get a spaceship into orbit reliably, he\u2019s been launching rockets and satellites and astronauts at a pace that no mere nation-state can achieve. And he\u2019s doing this while also manufacturing electric cars that no one else can match, digging tunnels that no one else can equal, and dominating the field of residential solar energy. His critics, meanwhile, only dominate the field of kvetching.<\/p>\n<p>And he\u2019s had it with their BS. After Twitter censorship reached the point of ridiculousness, he responded by setting out to buy it. Now as a result of that effort, it turns out that Twitter is, well, kind of a sham. About half of President Biden\u2019s followers turn out to be fake. (So do nearly a quarter of Musk\u2019s.) Much of America\u2019s journalistic and political agenda appears to be directed by bots.<\/p>\n<p>Worse yet, Musk\u2019s intolerance for BS is starting to spread to his fellow tycoons. Amazon pioneer and fellow space-enthusiast Jeff Bezos recently mocked the Biden administration\u2019s Ministry of Truth by suggesting that it fact-check Biden\u2019s nonsensical claim that today\u2019s inflation is the result of corporations not paying enough in taxes.<\/p>\n<p>Bezos, who also owns The Washington Post, has been a reliable supporter of the establishment. If he\u2019s straying from the reservation, who knows what\u2019s next?<\/p>\n<p>This is a mortal threat, because the left\u2019s BS can only flourish in an environment where no one challenges it.<\/p>\n<p>Expect blowback: Musk recently warned that he would become the target of political attacks, and that\u2019s already happening. He\u2019s also facing attacks from the Democrats\u2019 weaponized federal bureaucracy, with the SEC \u2014 what Musk calls the \u201cshort sellers\u2019 enrichment commission\u201d \u2014 going after him for suddenly discovered \u201cissues\u201d with Tesla. Meanwhile the FAA and EPA are suddenly slowing down SpaceX\u2019s work with dubious environmental demands. (Biden\u2019s Hispanic support has fallen to an incredibly low of 26%).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the past I voted Democrat, because they were (mostly) the kindness party,\u201d Musk wrote this week. \u201cBut they have become the party of division &amp; hate, so I can no longer support them and will vote Republican. Now, watch their dirty tricks campaign against me unfold.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Expect more lefty defections, as Musk reminds people that there\u2019s no need to kowtow.<br \/>That it took an immigrant to remind Americans of this fundamental American truth doesn\u2019t speak well of our current political culture.
