Yes, \u201cDr. Quinn, Medicine Woman.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The magic of making \u201cOK Computer\u201d h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ened at Seymour\u2019s lavish mansion in Bath, England, which Radiohead rented from the former Bond girl. \u201cThink of Jane Seymour, a very prim and proper actress, for some reason letting a rock band into her house to run wild,\u201d said Apple Music Radio host Matt Wilkinson, who celebrates the silver anniversary of \u201cOK Computer\u201d on a special episode of <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/music.apple.com\/us\/curator\/essentials-radio\/1194191120\">\u201cEssentials Radio\u201d<\/a> available this weekend. \u201cShe was away in the US, the house is empty, and they moved in. So maybe the true hero of \u2018OK Computer\u2019 is actually Jane Seymour for letting them do that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Twenty-five years later, \u201cOK Computer\u201d \u2014 with a futuristic vision that was, in fact, way ahead of its time \u2014 stands as the crowning achievement in Radiohead\u2019s considerable catalog. Not only is it right up there with Nirvana\u2019s \u201cNevermind\u201d as one of the very best LPs of the \u201990s, it is recognized as of the greatest albums of all time, inspiring a generation of Radiohead wannabes such as Coldplay.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/radiohead-ok-computer.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"The cover of &quot;OK Computer.&quot;\" class=\"wp-image-22356286\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/radiohead-ok-computer.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1536 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/radiohead-ok-computer.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/radiohead-ok-computer.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>The cover of Radiohead\u2019s 1997 alt-rock classic \u201cOK Computer.\u201d<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI think they\u2019re a bit like the Beatles in that way,\u201d said James Doheny, author of \u201cRadiohead: The Stories Behind Every Song.\u201d \u201cUltimately, history is the judge, and the fact that we\u2019re still talking about \u2018OK Computer\u2019 25 years later is because it\u2019s a great piece of music.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After Radiohead experienced success with its <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=XFkzRNyygfk\">1992 debut single \u201cCreep\u201d<\/a> and then its second album, 1995\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/playlist?list=PL4buxmiKwypjyzOICs7z_I_TZLNywhvLq\">\u201cThe Bends,\u201d<\/a> the band was looking to break out from the Britpop brigade that was dominating UK music at the time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey didn\u2019t like the position they were in within the music industry,\u201d said Wilkinson. \u201cThey felt really uncomfortable with what the press was saying about them \u2026 that they were perhaps being pigeonholed.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/radiohead-glastonbury-festival-1997-4.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Radiohead\" class=\"wp-image-22356259\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/radiohead-glastonbury-festival-1997-4.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/radiohead-glastonbury-festival-1997-4.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/05\/radiohead-glastonbury-festival-1997-4.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Led by Thom Yorke, Radiohead performed at the Glastonbury Festival shortly after the release of \u201cOK Computer\u201d in 1997.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Redferns<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>But Yorke got some much-needed mentorship from Michael Stipe while Radiohead was opening for R.E.M. on tour after \u201cThe Bends.\u201d \u201cI think all of this stuff was swirling around in Thom\u2019s head \u2014 this kind of anger of being portrayed incorrectly,\u201d said Wilkinson. \u201cI think [Stipe] was probably schooling Thom on how he could cope with becoming huge.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And that would result in Radiohead \u2014 who were working out \u201cOK Computer\u201d songs on that tour with R.E.M. \u2014 taking more creative control on the album. \u201cThey had the confidence to be able to say, \u2018We want to record differently,\u2019 and they\u2019re still a young band at this point,\u201d said Wilkinson. \u201cThe middle of the English countryside is not a place where bands normally record albums. So to go to your record label and say, \u2018We don\u2019t want to go into a normal recording studio and record a normal album\u2019 \u2026 and then pull it off is a really amazing achievement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Although the album would prove to be prescient with the dawning of the internet age, the title wasn\u2019t inspired by that. \u201cThom Yorke says it wasn\u2019t specifically about computers.
