But Zuckerberg sought to quell their fears in an all-hands meeting last week, according to a recording <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2022\/5\/18\/23125571\/meta-hiring-freeze-commerce-messenger-kids-facebook-gaming\">obtained by the Verge<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t sit here and make a permanent ongoing promise that as things shift that we won\u2019t have to reconsider that,\u201d\u00a0Zuckerberg reportedly said of potential layoffs. \u201cBut what I can tell you is that as of where we sit today, our expectation is not that we\u2019re going to have to do that.
