$369.99<\/p>\n<h6><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_back_story\"><\/span>The back story<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h6>\n<p> America loves its cocktails. But <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>arently, it doesn\u2019t love making them.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       How else to explain the many cocktail mixers or ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktails you\u2019ll find on store shelves? And in recent years, there\u2019s been another way to have your drinks at home \u2014 via a machine that will do the heavy lifting (er, mixing) for you. Two such products came to market \u2013 Drinkworks, a joint venture from Anheuser-Busch<br \/>\n        BUD,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/209225053\/composite\" class=\"positive\">+0.39%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       and Keurig Dr. Pepper<br \/>\n        KDP,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/201754990\/composite\" class=\"positive\">+0.73%<\/bg-quote><span>,<\/span><br \/>\n       and Bartesian, a product launched in 2019 by entrepreneur Ryan Close.<\/p>\n<p>Drinkworks ended up not making it \u2014 the machine was discontinued late last year \u2014 but Bartesian continues to find a market: Close says his company has sold hundreds of thousands of machines and 15 million of the \u201ccapsules\u201d that are used in preparing the drinks. He says the product has struck a chord for a simple reason: \u201cMaking cocktails is a pain in the ass.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At this point, it might be worth explaining a little how Bartesian works: The machine has you fill bottles with key spirits \u2014 vodka, gin, whiskey, rum, tequila \u2014 and then insert them upside down into its base. From there, you pop in one of the cocktail capsules \u2014 there are dozens of options (separate purchase required), from a sidecar to low-cal whiskey sour \u2014 and determine how strong you\u2019d like your sip. You can also go the no-alcohol or \u201cmocktail\u201d route, too. <\/p>\n<p>Then, it takes no more than a minute for your cocktail to be sip-ready.<\/p>\n<p>Close emphasizes the quality and special sourcing of what goes into the capsules. \u201cWe go to Texas for the blackberries in our blackberry margarita,\u201d he says by way of example. He also notes that he avoids using high-fructose corn syrup. In the end, he says, you can make a \u201cgold-standard cocktail\u201d with Bartesian.<\/p>\n<h6><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_we_think_about_it\"><\/span>What we think about it<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h6>\n<p>I\u2019m of two minds about Bartesian.<\/p>\n<p>First, the pros: It does make a decent drink \u2014 maybe not as good as one you\u2019ll get in a craft cocktail bar, but certainly far better than some of the overly sweet and artificial RTDs on the market. And it\u2019s no doubt better than what you may get at a neighborhood bar that relies on, say, canned juices.<\/p>\n<p>I also like the customization aspect \u2014 both in terms of choosing the strength of the drink and in choosing the exact spirit of your choice (in other words, you can go high end or low end with your booze).<\/p>\n<div id=\"cx-membership-tile\"><\/div>\n<p>But there are some cons. Chief among them: This thing takes up a lot of counter space. You have to ask yourself if you really want to give up that space for something probably not as critical as a kitchen mixer or an air fryer (the hot appliance of the moment). <\/p>\n<p>In response, Close points out the obvious: The Bartesian doesn\u2019t have to go on a kitchen counter and can be placed instead in a home-bar area. But that\u2019s presuming you have that luxury. (I live in a New York City apartment \u2014 a home bar is as much an anathema to me as a backyard hot tub.)<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m also not convinced it\u2019s that hard to make a great cocktail from scratch. I do it occasionally, or I rely on a high-quality mixer to make things easier. It\u2019s perhaps not as much fun or, more critically, as convenient as having the equivalent of a booze-loving robot in your house.
