MetroCards&#8221;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h1>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Fans of Biggie Smalls packed subway stations across Brooklyn Saturday to score commemorative MetroCards honoring the late hip-hop r<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>er\u2019s 50th birthday.<\/p>\n<p>About 50,000 cards were packed in MetroCard machines at four stations in Brooklyn, which was home to Biggie, aka \u201cNotorious B.I.G.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>People were lined up about 100 at a time, waiting for hours at the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center station for a crack at buying some of the cards, which featured a portrait of the late rapper. <\/p>\n<p>Many said it was well worth it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a long, hot two hours,\u201d said Melissa Pajuelo, 30, of Brighton Beach, after buying five MetroCards. \u201cTwo are for me. Another two are for my boyfriend, and the last one is for my homeboy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s Biggie Smalls. He\u2019s an icon,\u201d she added. \u201cWho\u2019s not going to want this, being born and raised in Brooklyn?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not even going to use the card,\u201d said Carmen Torres, Biggie fan,\u201d he said. \u201cThis is a cool way and a unique item to get and show true fandom.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cClearly people are down for it,\u201d he added. \u201cI\u2019d come back for enterprising man tried to make some B.I.G bucks by scalping the commemorative cards to people seeking to avoid the long wait.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cForty bucks! Who wants it?\u201d he shouted.<\/p>\n<p>The MetroCards are one of many ways the Big Apple is <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2022\/05\/19\/how-nyc-will-celebrate-the-late-notorious-b-i-g-s-50th-birthday\/\">celebrating <\/a>the 50th birthday of the late rap star, who was infamously gunned down and murdered in 1997 after leaving a Vibe party in Los Angeles. He was 24.
