It\u2019s simple and versatile. You can use it for NFTs, buying and selling tokens on decentralized exchanges (DEXs), or accessing a plethora of DeFi <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>s (dApps).<\/p>\n<p>MetaMask can be installed as an extension in your web browser or downloaded on smartphones (iPhone and Android) as an app.\u00a0You\u2019ll need Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Brave, or Microsoft Edge to use it in a browser. To get started, head to the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/metamask.io\/download\/\">MetaMask download page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>For this explainer, Chrome will be used as the browser. If you\u2019re using Firefox, the steps to download and install are very similar. There will be an option in the upper right-hand corner to install MetaMask. Make sure you agree to the Terms of Use. If you forget your password your\u00a0Secret Backup Phrase is the only way to access your wallet. If someone else knows your Secret Backup Phrase, they can access your wallet.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Write your\u00a0Secret Backup Phrase down on a piece of paper. Do not store them on your computer. There are varying ways dApps word this, but by clicking this you will be able to make transactions seamlessly with just a few clicks.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"admonishment_warning\"><p><strong>Warning:<\/strong> Make sure the app or platform you will be connecting your wallet to is trustworthy. If there is any doubt, take the extra time to do a little research. Most importantly, do not provide your Secret Backup Phrase to any platform, email, or person. All of your holdings can be stolen if obtained.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Once you click the \u201cConnect a Wallet\u201d button, you will be prompted to select the wallet you want to connect. An interface from Uniswap is shown below as an example. You can see the \u201cConnect to a wallet\u201d button in the upper right. When clicked a few options appear.
