He was 90.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/colin-cantwell-dead-star-wars-spacecraft-concept-artist-1235152043\/\">Hollywood Reporter reported<\/a>\u00a0Sunday that Sierra Dall, Cantwell\u2019s partner, confirmed that he died at his home in Colorado on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Cantwell designed the prototypes for the X-wing Starfighter, TIE fighter and Death Star.<\/p>\n<p>He also worked on films including \u201c2001: A Space Odyssey,\u201d \u201cClose Encounters of the Third Kind\u201d and \u201cWar<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Game<\/a>s.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cantwell was born in San Francisco in 1932. Before working on Hollywood films, Cantwell attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where he got a degree in animation. Cantwell worked with NASA to feed Walter Cronkite updates during the 1969 moon landing.<\/p>\n<p>Cantwell wrote two <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/sciencee\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"5\" title=\"Science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">science<\/a> fictions novels.
