Both LG and T-Mobile are investigating the issue, and we have a fix that might help.<\/p>\n<p>For those unaware, LG closed its mobile division back in 2021 and stopped making phones. However, the company did continue sending security updates out and even promised Android 12 software updates for select devices.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, it looks like old LG devices on T-Mobile are experiencing a widespread issue that\u2019s leaving most devices completely unusable. This h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ens over and over, continuously, every few seconds, making devices giant paperweights.<\/p>\n<p>Owners have tried doing a factory data reset and erasing everything on the phone, which <em>does not<\/em> fix the issue. Instead, you\u2019ll want to wait for T-Mobile and LG to find a solution or try our fix below. So, what is the <strong>\u2018LG IMS has stopped\u2019<\/strong> error message, and what does it mean?<\/p>\n<p>LG\u2019s IMS is a framework that handles text messages and phone calls for LG smartphones. This app, or running service, is critical to devices being able to communicate with T-Mobile. Either way, the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TMobileHelp\/with_replies\">T-Mobile Help Twitter<\/a> account keeps saying LG will have a fix ready later tonight.<\/p>\n<p>Obviously, having a non-functional phone until later tonight isn\u2019t ideal. And while we\u2019re hopeful that LG or T-Mobile can get it fixed before then, you can also try the fix below that appears to work for most users.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"how-to-fix-lsquo-lg-ims-has-stopped-rsquo-issue-on-t-mobile\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_Fix_the_%E2%80%98LG_IMS_has_stopped_Error_on_T-Mobile_Phones\"><\/span>How to Fix the \u2018LG IMS has stopped\u2019 Error on T-Mobile Phones<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>While owners have tried several different things to fix the problem, most of them don\u2019t work, and the error message either continues or returns in a matter of minutes. That said, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/AndroidQuestions\/comments\/uvoguk\/lg_ims_keep_stops_working_error_fixed\/\">according to Reddit<\/a>, this solution appears to fix the error message. Follow these steps:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Turn on <strong>Airplane mode<\/strong> on your LG phone to stop the error popups<\/li>\n<li>Enable <strong>Wi-Fi Calling<\/strong> in settings &gt; calls (or search Wi-Fi calling in the settings menu)<\/li>\n<li>Next, go to Settings &gt; Apps and Notifications &gt; and select\u00a0<strong>App Info<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Click the 3-dots menu button at the top right and click on <strong>Show System<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Find and tap on\u00a0<strong>com.lge.ims.rcsprovider<\/strong>, then select<strong>\u00a0Storage<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Next, tap on <strong>Clear cache<\/strong>, then <strong>Clear data\/storage<\/strong>, and then hit <strong>Force stop<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You\u2019ll see these options after tapping on\u00a0<strong>com.lge.ims.rcsprovider<\/strong>, although they\u2019re hiding under the \u201cstorage\u201d setting on some LG phones. If you get the \u2018LG IMS\u2019 error during the process, don\u2019t worry. Hit \u201cclose app\u201d and just keep following the steps above.<\/p>\n<p>According to several comments on Reddit, you may need to follow the last step more than once and repeat the clear cache\/data process multiple times. The initial commenter suggests doing it at least five times, but that seems unnecessary unless the error message continues.<\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<p>Unfortunately, we can\u2019t guarantee that the steps above will fix the problem. Nor will turning on airplane mode prevent the error popup from happening repeatedly. If it does, you\u2019ll need to clear the error and continue with the steps quickly.<\/p>\n<p>Again, both T-Mobile and LG are aware of the problem and are actively working on a solution.
