\n Shortly after Joe Biden called Sen. Kamala Harris about tapping her as his running mate, the gaffe-prone former veep was mocked for using a script during his virtual chat, according to reports.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have the great honor to announce that I\u2019ve picked @KamalaHarris \u2014 a fearless fighter for the little guy, and one of the country\u2019s finest public servants \u2014 as my running mate,\u201d Biden wrote on Instagram.<\/p>\n

A photo posted on his account shows the 77-year-old speaking on a laptop with the beaming California senator as he holds up his iPhone with its speaker facing the computer, suggesting someone else was on their call, the Daily Mail reported.<\/p>\n

But it was a sheet of paper seen under the phone that caught people\u2019s attention.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve decided I would like you to join this effort to win back the soul of our country and be our nation\u2019s next Vice President,\u201d the text reads. \u201cI think you are entitled to know why I chose you. There are three reasons.\u201d<\/p>\n

Biden was soon mocked in pro-Trump social media<\/a> for resorting to a script during his call with his newly minted running mate.<\/p>\n

\u201cBiden\u2019s staff had to write a script for him so he\u2019d know why he was even talking to Kamala Harris. \u2018I\u2019m calling you today because\u2026,\u201d wrote Sean Davis, co-founder of conservative online mag The Federalist.<\/p>\n

Benny Johnson, chief creative officer of the conservative nonprofit Turning Point USA, also took a swipe.<\/p>\n

\u201c3 VERY IMPORTANT THINGS about this photo of Joe Biden calling Kamala to offer her VP spot:

\n1. Biden has to read from a script that is clearly visible
<\/br>
\n2. Biden does not know how to hold an iPhone (it\u2019s upside down)
<\/br>
\n3. The cartoon on Biden\u2019s desk is a man screaming \u201cWHY ME?!\u201d<\/p>\n

The Trump fundraising account @TrumpWarRoom weighed in, too.<\/p>\n

\u201c \u2018I am calling you today \u2026 There are three reasons.\u2019 Joe Biden needed a script to understand why his handlers chose Phony Kamala Harris to be his VP,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, MSNBC was accused by some of cropping the script to spare Biden the embarrassment,\u201d Fox News<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n

\u201cMSNBC cropped the photo of Joe Biden video chatting with Kamala Harris, removing Biden\u2019s talking points from the image.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s an embarrassment Biden needed talking points to talk to his own VP,\u201d GOP rapid response chief Steve Guest tweeted.<\/p>\n

\u201cBiden is clearly a puppet of the left,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Conspiracy theorist Jack Posobiec wrote: \u201cMSNBC doctored the image of Biden calling Kamala to remove the script he was using.\u201d<\/p>\n

MSNBC did not immediately respond to a request for comment by The Post.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
