ended up saving her life.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Susan Hunter-Dabson was blowdrying her hair and noticed something odd when she lifted her arm.<\/p>\n<p>The 57-year-old told\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.itv.com\/news\/anglia\/2022-05-20\/mum-says-drying-her-hair-saved-her-life-after-double-breast-cancer-discovery\">ITV News<\/a>: \u201cI was drying my hair and as I lifted my arm, the round, cup part of my breast went flat.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was a G-cup so it was difficult to feel anything but I knew the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>earance wasn\u2019t right.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause my mum had been diagnosed with\u00a0cancer\u00a0young and beaten it, I decided to go to the GP.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Most people associate\u00a0breast cancer\u00a0with a lump.<\/p>\n<p>But there are around\u00a0a dozen symptoms\u00a0of the disease, some of them less known than others.<\/p>\n<p>This can include a change to breast shape or size, or a flattening or shrinking of the breast.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Puckering or thickening of the\u00a0skin, or fluid from the nipple that is bloody, smelly or cloudy can also be key signs.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s important to be \u201cbreast aware\u201d \u2014 familiar with what you breasts are like normally \u2014 so you can\u00a0spot any changes early.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Susan, from Bedfordshire, was reassured by her GP that her symptoms were likely nothing to worry about \u2013 there could be other medical conditions causing them.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image serious.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy husband, Simon, came along to my appointment and I\u2019m so glad he was there because out of the blue I was told I had cancer.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure UK<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cIt was such a shock as I really couldn\u2019t comprehend me having cancer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was numb after being told I had a 6cm mass in my left breast, then during the course of the investigations, the doctors found another primary cancer in my right breast.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Susan began a six-month course of chemotherapy before having surgery to remove some breast tissue.<\/p>\n<p>She had four operations followed by four weeks of radiotherapy.<\/p>\n<p>After Susan\u2019s ordeal, which occurred over a year, she was fortunately told her cancer was in remission.<\/p>\n<p>She said she \u201cburst into tears\u201d because it was the \u201cbiggest relief\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI knew that I had a future,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>After her experience, Susan is now\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org\/page\/susans-cycle-300-giving-page-13\">raising money<\/a>\u00a0for Cancer Research UK by taking part in the charity\u2019s Cycle 300 campaign.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Elisa Mitchell, from Cancer Research\u2019s Bedfordshire branch, said: \u201cFor the past 20 years, the incredible generosity and commitment of people like Susan has helped Cancer Research UK make discoveries that have saved countless lives and which benefit millions of people around the world.<\/p>\n<figure
