However, \u201cthere is an ongoing outbreak associated with the consumption of Jif peanut butter,\u201d according to the recall.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On May 20, the J.M. Smucker voluntarily recalled select Jif peanut butter products.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">SOPA Images\/LightRocket via Gett<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Federal health officials have been investigating the outbreak that has been linked to certain Jif products produced at the company\u2019s facility in Lexington, Ky., according to the FDA.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEpidemiologic and laboratory data show that some Jif brand peanut butters may be contaminated with Salmonella Senftenberg and are making people sick,\u201d the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said in a notice\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/salmonella\/senftenberg-05-22\/details.html\">about the investigation.<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The J.M. Smucker Company told FOX Business that it\u2019s \u201cconfident\u201d that it has properly defined the scope of the recall and that the incident was isolated to its Lexington manufacturing facility.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>None of its other products or peanut-butter-producing facilities have been impacted in any manner, according to the company.<\/p>\n<p>Salmonella symptoms can include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.
