\n A New York City straphanger launched a racist tirade against an Asian woman on the subway, using the term \u201ckung flu\u201d in reference to coronavirus, video shows.<\/p>\n

PeiJung Lee shared footage Tuesday on Twitter<\/a> of the unidentified man hurling expletives at her on the train.<\/p>\n

\u201cAsian Americans continue to face these racial attacks 6 months in since the pandemic began,\u201d she wrote. \u201cI was verbally abused by this man\u201d<\/p>\n

In the clip, the man could be heard shouting, \u201cYou want to be on your kung flu f\u2013king shit, man.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou have the right to record me too, you f\u2013king b\u2014h?\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

Civil liberties groups have said that using \u201ckung flu\u201d to refer to COVID-19 is racist and can fuel anti-Asian sentiments.<\/p>\n

In another video, the man was seen verbally harassing another female passenger who asked him to be quiet.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you f\u2013king play with me, I\u2019ll f\u2013king hurt you,\u201d he said to which she responds, \u201cI\u2019m just trying to tell you to be quiet.\u201d<\/p>\n

After Lee posted the videos online, New York City Transit Authority replied saying they \u201ctake reports like this very seriously.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s absolutely no room for racism on the subway,\u201d the agency wrote on Twitter.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
