News.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Smith then confirmed she grew accustomed to not getting \u201ccuddles\u201d as a little girl.<\/p>\n<p>The pair was chatting with Kelly McDaniel \u2014 author of the book\u00a0\u201cMother Hunger: How Adult Daughters Can Understand and Heal From Lost Nurturance, Protection and Guidance\u201d \u2014 when the bombshell revelations were dropped during a discussion about family bonds.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVery rarely will you see Jada and I even touch, hug,\u201d Banfield-Norris continued. \u201cIt\u2019s awkward because we didn\u2019t hug in our family. We knew we were loved, but it just wasn\u2019t that kind of nurturing touch.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She also looked back to when the \u201cGotham\u201d star and Will Smith\u2019s daughter, Willow Smith,\u00a0was a child. Banfield-Norris noted that the 21-year-old loved to cuddle in her younger years. While the \u201cWhip My Hair\u201d singer and her grandmother would embrace often, Smith explained how the touch was a departure from how she had been brought up.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut that was different for her,\u201d Smith said. \u201cShe never cuddled with me.\u201d Banfield-Norris said she now regrets not having a closer physical attachment to her daughter. \u201cIt felt so good to be able to have that, and I never had it,\u201d Banfield-Norris revealed to Willow. \u201cWhen I had it with you, then I missed it with Jada. I said, \u2018Mom, the valet wants to take me on this boat.\u2019 She said, \u2018Well, first of all, if he has a boat, what\u2019s he doing parking cars?
