Just make sure you remember when they are on and obey guidelines during summer water shortages.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Get_off_the_fence\"><\/span>Get off the fence<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Stop the cats from clambering into your garden with a higher fence.<\/p>\n<p>The pros said: \u201cCreate a barrier with wire-mesh fencing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost recommend at least 1.8 meters high and 5.1 by 5.1-centimeter squares. An overhang makes it even better.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Sniff_them_out\"><\/span>Sniff them out<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Cats are very sensitive to smell and there are a number of scents that they can\u2019t stand.<\/p>\n<p>The experts said: \u201cCats dislike the smell of rue, lavender and pennyroyal, Coleus Canina and lemon thyme.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlant a few of these throughout the garden. (Interplanting can attract pollinators and other beneficial insects too.)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey also steer clear of strong citrus scents.
