That\u2019s in addition to figuring out which aquatic programs are feasible to be hosted, the deep diver added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know New Yorkers depend on our pools and beaches in the summer \u2014 and we remain committed to ensuring that our facilities are open and usable,\u201d Howard said.<\/p>\n<p>This also comes in the wake of a Department of Investigation report that cited \u201c13 recommendations to correct deficiencies in the management and operation of the Lifeguard Division,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thecity.nyc\/2022\/5\/24\/23140485\/lifeguards-wave-off-safety-recommendations-city-investigators\">the City reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>That baker\u2019s dozen of proposed changes focuses on bettering the corps\u2019 disciplinary system to crack down on rule-breaking lifeguards.
