PETERSBURG, Fla. \u2014 Gleyber Torres tied his home run total from last season on Sunday, in 82 fewer <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a>s, even while dealing with a recent wrist issue.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Torres crushed his ninth home run of the year in the second inning off Shane McClanahan, giving the Yankees a lead before they fell to the Rays 4-2 at Tropicana Field.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It was Torres\u2019 second home run of the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a>, and fourth in the past week, despite getting treatment for a wrist issue. Last year, he had nine homers in 127 games and 516 plate appearances. In 2020, he only hit three homers in 42 games and 160 plate appearances.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" frameborder=\"no\" height=\"200\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/playlist.megaphone.fm\/?e=NYPH5442666171&amp;light=true\" width=\"100%\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n<p>Despite being one of the Yankees\u2019 hottest hitters in the first month of the season, Anthony Rizzo has gone equally cold since.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n    <\/aside>\n<p>The first baseman went 0-for-4 Sunday, falling further into the slump he has been in for the past month.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In his first 20 games of the season, Rizzo hit .284\/.391\/.703 with nine home runs, 21 RBIs, nine walks and 12 strikeouts. In 26 games since entering Sunday, he was hitting .165\/.284\/.308 with two home runs, seven RBIs, 14 walks and 20 strikeouts.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Rizzo\u2019s lone hit of the series against the Rays was an RBI double smoked to right field on Thursday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s gotten some big hits for us,\u201d Boone said. \u201cBut I think it\u2019s that quality of contact. \u2026 It\u2019s just that little tick where when he gets off his good swing or gets on time with a pitch, it\u2019s just barely missing really clipping it. I think that\u2019s one of the things that just happens with the ebb and flow of the season. He\u2019s still getting on base a little bit. But I think it\u2019s just shoring up when he gets his pitch and he\u2019s on time, making sure he sticks it.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n<p>Catcher Rob Brantly, who was designated for assignment on Wednesday after being called up to fill in while Kyle Higashioka was on the COVID IL, elected free agency on Friday instead of accepting an outright assignment to <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trip<\/a>le-A Scranton\/Wilkes-Barre.
