There\u2019s no <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reviewgeek.com\/113250\/satechi-30w-usb-c-pd-gan-wall-charger-review-big-power-tiny-package\/\">wall charger here, annoyingly. AC adapters aren\u2019t exactly hard to come by, it\u2019s just a little frustrating to have an extra cable and nothing to plug it into.<\/p>\n<p>Buying the speaker should give you full access to its basic features, and having something to charge it with needs to be on the list. It\u2019s not something that bothers everyone, but it certainly does frustrate me.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 1920px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-118737 size-full\" data-pagespeed-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.reviewgeek.com\/p\/uploads\/2022\/05\/fbb1ca35.jpg\" alt=\"Monoprice Harmony Capsule 200 held in hand\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" data-credittext=\"Chazz Mair\" src=\"\/pagespeed_static\/1.JiBnMqyl6S.gif\" onload=\"pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\" onerror=\"this.onerror=null;pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span class=\"imagecredit\">Chazz Mair<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Monoprice Harmony Capsule 200 is touted as a portable speaker that offers \u201c<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.anrdoezrs.net\/links\/100317643\/type\/am\/sid\/118678\/https:\/\/www.monoprice.com\/product?p_id=43262\">Big Sound in a Small Package<\/a>,\u201d but it\u2019s a very lenient usage of \u201csmall.\u201d Longways, the Harmony measures 88-inches, as mentioned before, and its shorter sides are 3.5- and 3.7-inches each.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s by no means massive, but I can\u2019t imagine anyone describing it as small. Instead, the\u00a0Harmony Capsule\u2019s cylindrical shape makes it a breeze to find space for\u2014as long as you\u2019re not lugging it around. The speaker is on the heavier side of the portable speaker market.<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully it\u2019s also sturdy and waterproofed at an IPX7 rating\u2014which means you can hold this thing under a few feet (about 1-meter) of water and have it come out fine. Rain isn\u2019t a problem for this speaker.<\/p>\n<p>While the Harmony Capsule is portable, I wouldn\u2019t carry it around unless I had a destination in mind. In addition, the battery only lasts eight hours, and it charges slowly, making a nearby charger a necessity. Consider carrying a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/770220\/best-portable-charger\/\">power bank<\/a> with you if you\u2019re planning to use the speaker for more than a few hours away from home.<\/p>\n<p>The Harmony Capsule 200 comes equipped with both Bluetooth 5.0 (offering up to 32-feet of range) and a microSD slot\u2014something that is a little on the rare side nowadays. It\u2019s nice to have as an alternative option, even if I didn\u2019t get much usage out of it.<\/p>\n<p>The play, Bluetooth, and power buttons are all present on the front of the speaker. They\u2019re slightly recessed, but they feel decent and responsive, except for the odd volume sliders. I got used to these quickly enough, though. As a result, it produces that big bassy sound that many people tend to like.<\/p>\n<p>But even for a $70 speaker, the Harmony Capsule\u2019s quality winds up sounding both muddy and tinny. It doesn\u2019t handle volume well when compared to other <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/743546\/best-bluetooth-speakers\/\">Bluetooth speakers<\/a>\u00a0in the same price range, like the\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/800366\/jbl-clip-4-review\/\">JBL Clip 4<\/a>. There\u2019s a good middle volume where it sounds decent enough, but if you go too high or too low, the quality takes a noticeable dive.<\/p>\n<p>Apparently, it uses an automatic <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/59467\/htg-explains-what-is-an-equalizer-and-how-does-it-work\/\">EQ (equalizer)<\/a>, but it\u2019s hard to test it. Regardless of genre or artist, I kept running into tinny highs and muddled middles.<\/p>\n<p>Given that the price of this speaker is fairly low, I don\u2019t expect the sound to be outstanding, but it doesn\u2019t match the rest of the design. When I buy a speaker as large as the Harmony Capsule 200, I want it to be loud and clear.<\/p>\n<p>You can pair two of these up together for stereo sound, and once again considering the low price tag, it\u2019s a lot less of a commitment here. \u00a0Stereo does help the volume issue, but not so much the actual sound. People still sound like they\u2019re mumbling; just now, it\u2019s from two places instead of one.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"User_Experience_It_Just_Works\"><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" name=\"moka_anchor_UserExperienceItJustWorks\">User Experience: It Just Works<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<div class=\"greybox_callout\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Battery Type:<\/strong> 7.2V Lithium-Ion<\/li>\n<li><strong>Charging Time:<\/strong> 3 Hours<\/li>\n<li><strong>Playback time:<\/strong> 8 Hours<\/li>\n<li><strong>microSD Card Capacity:<\/strong> 32GB<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>Setting up the Monoprice Harmony Capsule 200 was a breeze\u2014you turn it on and connect it to whatever device you want. The battery and connection status is noted by a series of little LED dots near the bottom of the speaker, right beneath the power button. It\u2019s straightforward, and that\u2019s appreciated.<\/p>\n<p>Along the same vein, it\u2019s very noticeable how little the speaker does. There are no external applications; everything you can do with the speaker is right there on it. If you plug in an aux cable, it will play music from that device. And while it doesn\u2019t have multi-point connection, it can take your calls for you. The quality isn\u2019t the best, so I would look <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reviewgeek.com\/14772\/the-best-bluetooth-speakers-with-speakerphone-functionality\/\">elsewhere for a speakerphone.<\/p>\n<p>But, with this being a $70 budget speaker, the issue I ran into the most was simply how large it is. The Harmony Capsule 200 doesn\u2019t do enough to warrant its size. It\u2019s a little too big to carry around comfortably and its eight-hour battery life means you\u2019ll always want to have a battery pack with you.<\/p>\n<p>My speaker was plugged in almost 24\/7 because it never charged very swiftly, either.
