A shocking number of users report that their Pixel phone \u201cbricked\u201d after trying to downgrade from the buggy Android 13 Beta.<\/p>\n<p>Now, this is obviously a frustrating situation, but it\u2019s not much of a surprise. Beta versions of Android are notoriously buggy, and the Android 13 Beta doesn\u2019t reach \u201cplatform stability\u201d until Beta 3 arrives\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/developer.android.com\/about\/versions\/13\/overview#platform_stability\">sometime this June<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The good <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> is that Pixel phones aren\u2019t becoming <em>permanently<\/em> bricked. If you\u2019ve somehow found yourself in this pickle, you can probably recover your phone. The recovery process is just a pain in the butt, and unfortunately, it includes a factory reset. You may also need a computer to sideload a working version of Android to your phone (though this last step may be unnecessary in some cases).<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cHi, I have a problem with my Pixel 6; I opted out from the android 13 beta, and during the installation\/<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">download<\/a> of the downgrade (after some seconds) the device rebooted, and now it\u2019s in a boot loop with the boot loader locked.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>First, enter Fastboot Mode by holding your Pixel\u2019s \u201cpower\u201d and \u201cvolume down\u201d keys. Your touchscreen won\u2019t work here, so use the volume keys to select \u201cRecovery Mode\u201d and press the power button.<\/p>\n<p>If your phone shows a \u201cNo Command\u201d error, simply press the \u201cpower\u201d and \u201cvolume up\u201d keys. You should now be in Recovery Mode. Use your volume keys to select \u201cWipe Data\/Factory Reset\u201d and press the power button. (This will clear all the data from your phone!)<\/p>\n<p>A simple factory reset <em>could<\/em> fix your Pixel phone. But if it\u2019s still stuck in a boot loop, you need to sideload the latest version of Android 12 (or the Android 13 Beta, if you still want it). That means installing <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/developer.android.com\/studio\/releases\/platform-tools.html\">Android Debug Bridge (ADB)<\/a>\u00a0on your computer and downloading the latest <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/developers.google.com\/android\/ota\">Android 12 OTA update<\/a> available for your device.<\/p>\n<p>Instructions for sideloading the Android 12 OTA are available <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/developers.google.com\/android\/ota\">at Google\u2019s website<\/a>. Unfortunately, if you never toggled OEM Unlocking or USB Debugging, you may not be able to complete this process. We\u2019ve reached out to Google for more information, and it seems that some customers need to do the same.<\/p>\n<p>If your Pixel phone is \u201cbricked\u201d and you can\u2019t get it fixed, Google can service the device by mail.
