CEO Jamie Dimon sees a storm on the horizon for the U.S. economy, but he\u2019s not sure if it\u2019ll be a superstorm or a minor one.<\/p>\n<p> Dimon turned to weather metaphors when asked about the challenges facing the U.S. Federal Reserve to tame inflation on Wednesday at the Bernstein Strategic Decisions Conference.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       The economy remains \u201csunny\u201d at the moment with fiscal stimulation from the U.S. government \u201cstill in the pocketbooks of consumers who are spending it,\u201d according to a tran<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">script<\/a> of the event posted by FactSet. <\/p>\n<p>Consumer spending remains bullish, with plentiful jobs and wages going up, but inflation continues to threaten prosperity. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cEveryone thinks the Fed can handle this,\u201d Dimon said. \u201cThat hurricane is right out there down the road coming our way. We just don\u2019t know if it\u2019s a minor one or Superstorm Sandy, or Andrew or something like that, and you better brace yourself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said he\u2019s positioned JPMorgan<br \/>\n        JPM,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/205971034\/composite\" class=\"negative\">-1.75%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       to focus on the strength of its balance sheet to withstand any impact. <\/p>\n<p>Dimon pointed his finger toward the war in Ukraine causing hikes in oil prices, fiscally-induced growth and the challenge of hiking interest rates without causing a recession as some of his major concerns.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWars go bad \u2014 they go south,\u201d Dimon said. \u201cThey have unintended consequences and this happens to be within the commodity markets of the world wheat, oil, gas and stuff like that which, in my view, will continue.
