When he does, Boone intends to use Stanton in the outfield in the same manner as he has been all season \u2014 despite the injury.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI view him similar to how we\u2019ve used him through the season,\u2019\u2019 Boone said before the Yankees were rained out Wednesday against the Angels in The Bronx. \u201cI\u2019ve already talked about that with him and I think we\u2019re on the same page.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Boone added Stanton would still get \u201ca lot of DH days.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But Stanton has played better since going back to being more of a two-way player last season.<\/p>\n<p>Still, the Yankees are trying to keep the slugger healthy, and playing the outfield could put that in jeopardy.<\/p>\n<p>With Stanton still out (he\u2019s eligible to come off the IL on Saturday), Joey Gallo was to start in right field, with the struggling Aaron Hicks back in center, Miguel Andujar in left and Aaron Judge serving as the DH.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"782\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/06\/Giancarlo-Stanton.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Giancarlo Stanton\" class=\"wp-image-22500754\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/06\/Giancarlo-Stanton.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1536 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/06\/Giancarlo-Stanton.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/06\/Giancarlo-Stanton.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Giancarlo Stanton<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">AP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n    <\/aside>\n<p>Gallo expressed a comfort level in right after playing there Tuesday for the first time this season and making two standout plays. Gallo has been woeful at the plate for much of his time in The Bronx, but he reached base three times Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Boone said he would keep that in mind when Stanton returns, but also noted that he values Gallo in the more spacious left field of Yankee Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>Hicks, meanwhile, was set to be back in the lineup for just the second time in six <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a>s against lefty Reid Detmers.<\/p>\n<p>The switch-hitting Hicks has been better from the right side.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s always that challenge with switch hitters,\u2019\u2019 Boone said of getting both sides clicking at the same time. \u201cWe want him to start building quality at-bats and get that confidence going.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" frameborder=\"no\" height=\"200\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/playlist.megaphone.fm\/?e=NYPH3805475924\" width=\"100%\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In 21 games since May 4, Hicks has gone just 7-for-60 with a double, two RBIs, nine walks and 19 strikeouts.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n<p>Josh Donaldson also could return to the lineup soon. He said the cortisone shot in his right shoulder was effective. Donaldson, who has been bothered by the shoulder since spring training, had the injection while on the COVID-19 IL, knowing he would be out for at least a few games.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n<p>Yankees starting pitchers have pitched at least six innings in a season-high five straight games, their longest such streak since 2018.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s especially well-timed, since their bullpen is shorthanded, thanks to injuries to Aroldis Chapman and Jonathan Loaisiga, as well as the season-ending loss of Chad Green.<\/p>\n<p>Boone attributed the recent run of length from the starters to how effective they\u2019ve been and the fact they\u2019re missing some key arms in the pen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat comes into play,\u2019\u2019 Boone said of the status of the pen. \u201cWe\u2019ve had good fortune, since we\u2019ve had guys go down in the pen, but it becomes a moot point because guys have pitched well enough to allow for it to h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>en.\u201d\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
