href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a> and the founder of <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sequential.com\/\">Sequential<\/a>, has passed away, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CeSA-5Mv8BX\/\">the company announced<\/a> early Thursday morning. \u201cIt is with heavy hearts that we share the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> that Dave Smith has died,\u201d their post reads. \u201cWe\u2019re heartbroken, but take some small solace in knowing he was on the road doing what he loved best in the company of family, friends, and artists.\u201d Smith was 72.<\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>            Known as the father of MIDI for his seminal role in the development of the now-ubiquitous music technology, Smith founded Sequential in 1974 in Berkley, California. He was still in his 20s when he and John Bowen invented the Prophet-5, the first fully programmable polyphonic synthesizer and the first instrument to include an embedded microprocessor. Later, in the early \u201980s, Smith developed the first MIDI interface with Sequential engineer Chet Wood and collaborated with Roland founder Ikutaro Kakehashi to enshrine MIDI as the \u201cuniversal language for electronic instruments.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>            Smith sold Sequential to Yamaha in 1987 and went on to found Dave Smith Instruments in 2002. In 2015, he reacquired the rights to the Sequential name and released the Prophet-6.
