Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>eared.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Multiple sources told The Post earlier in the day that Kohl\u2019s may push back the deadline for bids because of lowball offers.<\/p>\n<p>Kohl\u2019s had indicated it wanted a price of at least $70 a share and a hedge fund manager following the process believed that Sycamore\u2019s offer was a non-starter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s an ongoing process,\u201d that may or may not result in a sale, a source close to Kohl\u2019s told The Post.<\/p>\n<p>Kohl\u2019s shares closed at $41.18 on Thursday, but were up 7% in after hours trading after <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> of the bids broke.<\/p>\n<p>The rival offers would value a deal at around $7 billion or $8 billion \u2013 after the Wisconsin-based retailer rejected an offer of $64 a share, equating to $9 billion, earlier this year.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/06\/kohls-department-store-interior-1.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"A Kohl's shopping basket.\" class=\"wp-image-22505088\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/06\/kohls-department-store-interior-1.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/06\/kohls-department-store-interior-1.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/06\/kohls-department-store-interior-1.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Kohl\u2019s says its sales have slowed down because consumers are being more cautious.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">REUTERS<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Kohl\u2019s scared off bidders after delivering weaker-than-expected first-quarter financial results, citing a decline in consumer spending at its 1,100 stores \u2013 even as other retailers like Macy\u2019s report strong sales.<\/p>\n<p>Just two weeks ago, Kohl\u2019s chief executive, Michelle Gass, boasted about the \u201cnumber of parties who recognize the value of our business and plan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But \u201cmultiple parties\u201d ended up not submitting an offer, sources close to the sale process told The Post.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/06\/kohls-department-store-interior-2-.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"A &quot;We're hiring&quot;
