browser\u2019s latest crime-busting tool for a spin.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPrivacy Guide\u201d is a simple, step-by-step guided tour of some existing privacy and security controls in Chrome.<\/p>\n<p>It allows you to shore up your account\u2019s security without having to troll through the browser\u2019s settings.<\/p>\n<p>Users are guided through Chrome\u2019s controls for cookies and browsing history.<\/p>\n<p>Changing those controls restricts the data that Google and the websites you visit store about you.<\/p>\n<p>Privacy Guide also lets you tweak Google\u2019s Safe Browsing tool, which warns if you\u2019re about to access a suspected fishy website.<\/p>\n<p>Google announced the new feature in April and began rolling it out to users across the globe in recent weeks.<\/p>\n<p>It has described Privacy Guard as a place to \u201cmake and manage the right selections for you in one spot.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you navigate through Privacy Guide, you\u2019ll learn about the \u2018Why\u2019 behind each setting, and how it impacts your browsing experience,\u201d Google said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo start, Privacy Guide will include controls for cookies, history sync, Safe Browsing, and Make Searches and Browsing Better.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" your Chrome settings by clicking the three dots on the top-right corner of your browser.<\/p>\n<p>Go to\u00a0\u201cPrivacy and security\u201d\u00a0and then\u00a0\u201cPrivacy Guard.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If you don\u2019t have time to go through the whole guide at once, Google saves your progress as you go.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not the only security tool offered by Google\u2019s hugely popular browser.<\/p>\n<p>Chrome also offers a handy \u201cPassword Checkup\u201d service that lets you know if any of your online credentials have been compromised.<\/p>\n<p>To try it out, open Chrome and password options.<\/p>\n<p>Here you should see a section called \u201cSaved Passwords\u201d that will contain all the websites for which you have saved your login details.<\/p>\n<p>Then click \u201cCheck passwords\u201d and Chrome will scan your details and let you know if any have been compromised.<\/p>\n<p>It will also tell you if any of your passwords are weak.<\/p>\n<p>If this is the
