Now Valve has confirmed it has been delayed, <em>again<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Valve said in an announcement on June 1, \u201cDue to parts shortages and COVID closures at our manufacturing facilities, the official Steam Deck Docking Station is delayed. We\u2019re working on improving the situation and will share more info when we have it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The official <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/redirect.viglink.com\/?key=204a528a336ede4177fff0d84a044482&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fstore.steampowered.com%2Fsteamdeck%23%3A%7E%3Atext%3DThere%2527s%2520a%2520dock%252C%2520too.\">docking station<\/a> was revealed alongside the Steam Deck itself, which works much like a laptop docking station or the Nintendo Switch dock. It has multiple ports for USB devices, displays, and network connections, which become functional once the Steam Deck is attached to the dock. Since the Steam Deck is just a Linux PC (or a Windows PC, if you switched operating systems), any USB Type-C dock should work. Ideally, you should have a dock with the ability to pass power to the Steam Deck, like <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B07ZVKTP53?tag=htgnews-20\">Anker\u2019s USB-C Hub<\/a>, so your Steam Deck won\u2019t drain its battery while other devices are connected.<\/p>\n<p>Valve <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.steamdeck.com\/en\/faq#:~:text=Does%20docking%20the%20Deck%20improve%20performance%3F\">already confirmed<\/a> that its official dock won\u2019t improve performance, since the Steam Deck already \u201cruns at full performance in portable mode,\u201d so you won\u2019t lose out on anything if you purchase a different dock solution instead (besides the sleeker design).
