\n ALBANY \u2014 Nearly 40,000 orders from 33 different countries have been placed for copies of Gov. Andrew Cuomo\u2019s bizarre coronavirus victory-lap poster after it was unveiled earlier this summer.<\/p>\n

Cuomo\u2019s office tallied 35,434 orders as of Wednesday, with orders from all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n

People from Europe, the Middle East and from countries as far away as Australia and Japan purchased the $11.50, 22-inch-by-28-inch painting \u2014 which state officials claim they\u2019re making a profit on as the poster is being produced \u201cat cost.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSomeone in New York bought a poster and had it sent to family in Croatia. Someone in India bought a poster for family in New York,\u201d said a source close to the governor.<\/p>\n

The third-term Democrat revealed the artwork in July, showcasing the political\u00a0poster\u2019s intricate\u00a0mapp<\/a>ed out COVID-19 crisis in painted form.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a huge virus test swab stuck up a mini Cuomo\u2019s nose, a bottle of state prison-made hand sanitizer and a gaggle of health care and other essential workers hauling themselves up the \u201ccoronavirus mountain\u201d with a rope.<\/p>\n

There are signs depicting the \u201cboyfriend cliff\u201d \u2014 emblematic of when his daughter Maria Kennedy-Cuomo\u2019s beau came to the governor\u2019s mansion in Albany for family dinner \u2014 and an inscription reading \u201c111 Days of Hell,\u201d signifying Cuomo\u2019s daily virus-related press briefings.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the second weird poster from Cuomo this year, after he commissioned a wacky seascape depicting his third term in office.<\/p>\n

The poster design was paid for by the governor\u2019s campaign.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
