The street\u2019s not the place for them,\u201d the 65-year-old said.\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s heartbreaking.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The prolific author, who has penned 13 books\u00a0\u2014 three of which were released during the pandemic\u00a0\u2014 attempted to write a story about this issue, but thought better of it, realizing readers might say, \u2018You\u2019re blaming the victim.\u2019 <\/p>\n<p>Sedaris, a Raleigh, NC native who moved to Manhattan in 1990, hasn\u2019t given up on mass transit either. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe thing is, if a mentally ill person pushes you in front of the train it\u2019s nothing personal \u2026 but you\u2019re still dead,\u201d he said.\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
