Nafousi has become Gen Z\u2019s go-to life coach: an insta-fixture who champions the magic of manifesting for others. She regularly leads hundreds of people in corporate and private seminars to teach them her path to success, and even turned her training manual into a British best-seller,\u00a0\u201cManifest: 7 Steps to Living Your Best Life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She\u2019s already finished book No. 2, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/roxienafousi\/?hl=en\">boasts 141,000 followers on Instagram<\/a>, and has a line of products planned, including mantra cards and a self-love journal, as well as her book\u2019s looming stateside debut. Even before it\u2019s widely available, though, the chic, pocket-sized tome has already been <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CZge8_WrlAn\/\">spotted in the hands of supermodel Bella Hadid<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Cannily, its cover is Herm\u00e8s orange. \u201cThe cover was really important to me. We\u2019re born into this world with such incredible confidence, and then life h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ens to us, and we start to believe we\u2019re not worthy. Like attracts like, she says, so the more positive energy you generate, the more positive outcomes you\u2019ll experience in life.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEverything in the universe is made up of energy \u2014 the sky, our feelings \u2014 and what differentiates them is the density, the frequency of those vibrations. If you see a confident woman walk into the room, don\u2019t say \u2018Omigod, she\u2019s so arrogant\u2019 but think about how much you\u2019d love to embody that confident too, and work on healing yourself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Vision boards are a mainstay of the Nafousi version of manifesting: Create these collages as concrete focal points to keep your positive thinking on track, she said. The privately educated daughter of a wealthy businessman, she claimed she never felt happy: \u201cI don\u2019t speak about my childhood, but I never grew up knowing happiness or joy. I wasn\u2019t shown an example of how to be happy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Not long after her return from that yoga course in Thailand, she met Wade Briggs, an actor, and soon became pregnant with their son, Wolfe; he was born a year to the day Wade first messaged her on the elite dating app Raya. Nafousi segued into workshop hosting and private coaching soon after her son was born, then scored the book deal she\u2019d visualized for herself. <\/p>\n<p>Of course, Nafousi isn\u2019t the first guru of such you-go-girlness. Really it\u2019s about self-worth, self-love and contentment,\u201d Nafousi said of her own approach.<\/p>\n<p>Some experts, though, sound alarms around surrendering the direction of your life to the abstract idea of manifesting. Gabriele Oettingen is an NYU professor who\u2019s studied positive thinking for much of her career. She instead recommends a process she calls WOOP: wish, outcome, obstacle, plan. It\u2019s fine to visualize happy outcomes, she said, but the best way to achieve them is to identify a way to tackle obstacles which stand between you and success.<\/p>\n<p>British academic Rhiannon Jones, a cognitive neuroscientist, has even stronger reservations. Her work explores the idea of thought-action fusion \u2013 put simply, the idea that we can manifest our wishes and dreams by thinking about them. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"747\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/06\/manifest.jpg?w=747\" alt=\"Manifest\" class=\"wp-image-22524641\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/06\/manifest.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1121 1120w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/06\/manifest.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=747 747w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/06\/manifest.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=374 373w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/06\/manifest.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 747px) 100vw, 747px\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cManifesting can be dangerous, because you can\u2019t believe in manifesting positive things through positive thoughts without also believing negative thoughts will manifest too,\u201d Jones warned. \u201cThat\u2019s the flip side of the law of attraction.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Nafousi is no-nonsense when challenged by cynics. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cLook, you do not have to listen to me. Nobody has to. There are thousands of coaches, and it\u2019s whoever communicates best to you \u2014 you could read it in a book, and the penny just drops,\u201d she said.
