Here\u2019s what to watch in June 2022:&lt;\/em&gt;\n<\/code><\/pre>\n<hr\/>\n<p>Believe it or not folks, we\u2019re halfway through the year. If you\u2019re anything like me, your 2022 watchlist has already shamefully bloated to an unwieldy size. But fear not, dear reader. Or rather <em>do<\/em>, because if you\u2019re a horror fan I\u2019ve got you covered, and fear is the name of the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a>! There may be blooming flowers and long sunny days in our future. But streaming services continue to diligently add a steady stream of spooky offerings to their catalogs. Lucky us! That watchlist will wane in no time.<\/p>\n<p>I mentioned this last month, but it bears repeating because inflation is real: <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Freevee<\/span>, formerly known as IMDb TV, as its name suggests, is free! <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Tubi<\/span>, which has one of the best libraries out there, is also free.<\/p>\n<p>So all that said, be sure to peruse <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">the complete list below<\/span>, calendar in hand, for a full picture of what horror <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">movies<\/a> are coming and going from your favorite streaming services in June 2022. Keep in mind that all dates listed below may not <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ly to viewers outside the US.<\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"June_2022_Horror_Streaming_Cheat_Sheet\"><\/span>June 2022 Horror Streaming Cheat Sheet<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Celebrate <strong>Pride Month\u00a0<\/strong>over at Shudder with their LGBTQ+ collection of Queer chillers, which sees the addition of five films from prolific gay Spanish filmmaker Eloy de la Iglesia as of June 1st.<\/li>\n<li>In other curation <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a>, ARROW is adding and bulking up six (six!) collections: The Art of Cult and The Trancers Collection (on June 1st); The Vinegar Syndrome Collection (June 6th); I Think You Should Leave (June 10th); Should Have Seen It Coming (June 16th), and the AGFA Collection (June 20th).<\/li>\n<li>If you\u2019ve ever wanted to blitz through <strong>the\u00a0<em>Alien\u00a0<\/em>franchise<\/strong>, pop over to Hulu on June 1st to catch <em>Alien <\/em>(1979), <em>Aliens<\/em> (1986), <em>Alien 3 <\/em>(1992), <em>Alien: Resurrection <\/em>(1997), <em>Alien V. Predator <\/em>(2004), and <em>Alien V. Predator: Requiem <\/em>(2007). You could even make a real meal of things and pop over to the free-to-watch Freevee to watch\u00a0<em>Prometheus\u00a0<\/em>(2012), which also arrives on June 1st.<\/li>\n<li>Rejoice, fans of our two greatest living actors \u2014 Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart \u2014 the whole <strong><em>Twilight Saga<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>arrives on Prime Video at the beginning of the month.<\/li>\n<li>The first three films in\u00a0<strong><em>The Mummy\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><strong>trilogy<\/strong> (a.k.a. <em>The Mummy<\/em> (1999); <em>The Mummy Returns<\/em> (2001), and <em>The Scorpion King<\/em> (2002)) leave HBO Max on June 30th.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>first four <em>Jaws<\/em> films<\/strong> are set to hit Peacock on June 13th.<\/li>\n<li>The very silly and seasonally appropriate <em><strong>I Know What You Did Last Summer<\/strong><\/em> hits HBO Max on June 1st.<\/li>\n<li>Incredible, restored copies of the first two\u00a0<strong><em>Alligator\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>films are hitting streaming this month. The first film is one of the finest performances from the great Robert Forster and I would encourage you to let that information guide your mouse cursor (over to Shudder \u2026 on June 2nd).<\/li>\n<li>As far as <strong>new releases<\/strong> go, <em>The Accused <\/em>(2021) hits Hulu on June 7th; \u00a0<em>The Dustwalker<\/em> (2020) and <em>Carrion<\/em> (2020) are leaving Hulu on June 30th; <em>Offseason\u00a0<\/em>hits Shudder on June 10th;\u00a0<em>Revealer\u00a0<\/em>(2022) hits Shudder on June 23rd, and <em>The Long Night\u00a0<\/em>(2022) arrives on Shudder on June 30th. As the masked Assassin descends further and further into the abyss, through senseless carnage, dusty idols, and voracious predators around every corner, their mysterious purpose is transmogrified into a cosmic journey with unimaginable consequences.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>If that plot summary sounded a bit vague \u2014 you\u2019re absolutely right: it was! <strong><em>Mad God\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>is an evasive, experimental viewing experience: a wordless visual nightmare that took its creator, the great <strong>Phil Tippett<\/strong>, three decades to complete. Combining stop-motion, live-action, miniatures, and other dark movie magic,\u00a0<em>Mad God<\/em> is a miracle, a curse, and a delight from start to finish. I truly have not seen anything before quite like <em>Mad God<\/em>, which reeks of that unmistakable uniqueness born from grotesque labors of love. But in the interest of converting skeptics and saving souls: it is as if Cyberdream\u2019s 1995 point-and-click adaptation of <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/prod-media.gameinformer.com\/styles\/full\/s3\/2018\/06\/29\/23fdc489\/nomouth.jpg\"><em>I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream<\/em><\/a> got into a Cronenbergian car-wreck with Dante\u2019s <em>Inferno\u00a0<\/em>and 1982\u2019s\u00a0<em>The Wall<\/em>. Intrigued? Terrified? That\u2019s the spirit. Dive in as blind as you can (for all its subconscious nightmare logic, surprises abound. As Arthur listens in disbelief, Charlie explains that he represents a company that offers a service that seems too good to be true: a new body, new face, and new lease on life. With a new identity based on his subconscious desires, Arthur re-enters the world as Tony Wilson, a successful painter. But when Arthur\/Tony struggles\u00a0to adapt to his new, ostensibly \u201cbetter\u201d life, will the company understand?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A sinister genre hybrid (sci-fi! horror! thriller! drama!) directed by John Frankenheimer,\u00a0<strong><em>Seconds\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>is a film drenched in paranoia and identity squirminess that left ample thumbprints all over genre cinema. With disarming risk-taking for a Hollywood film (bolstered by queasy, leering photography by the legendary Chinese-American DP James Wong Howe, <em>Seconds <\/em>also boasts one of the most alarming editing the mid-1960s had to offer (courtesy of Ferris Webster and David Newhouse).<\/p>\n<p>(Also \u2014 if you\u2019re feeling a bit intimidated by the size of the horror offerings on other streaming services,\u00a0<em>Seconds\u00a0<\/em>is literally the only horror movie being added to The Criterion Channel this month. Then, when a young man arrives wounded on his doorstep, the priest sees an opportunity for redemption. When things take a dark turn, it\u2019s unclear if the stranger is an emissary of God\u2019s wrath \u2026 or a messenger from the Devil himself.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Premiering at the Fantasia Film Festival in 2021, <em><strong>The Righteous <\/strong><\/em>is a remarkable feature film debut from <strong>Mark O\u2019Brien<\/strong> who also co-stars, writes, and executive produces (astute readers might remember O\u2019Brien as Alex, the young groom, in 2019\u2019s <em>Ready or Not<\/em>).\u00a0<em>The Righteous\u00a0<\/em>waltzed away with Fantasia\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2021\/film\/festivals\/fantasia-film-festival-award-winners-2021-1235049683\/\">Best Screenplay<\/a> award as well as the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2022\/film\/news\/arrow-mark-obrien-the-righteous-1235159548\/\">Best Cinematography<\/a> award at the Blood in the Snow Canadian Film Festival. Indeed, these are two of the film\u2019s strongest points: a dense, involving script and a stark, black-and-white aesthetic. Naturally, the only sane and hinged (that\u2019s the opposite of unhinged, right?) thing to do is to invade their privacy, break into their home, and expose the truth.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>First of all, a moment of respectful silence for the casting director who lobbied for <strong>Tom Hanks<\/strong> and <strong>Carrie Fisher<\/strong> as a suburban married couple. Chef\u2019s kiss. Second of all, the 1989 horror comedy, <strong><em>The \u2018Burbs<\/em><\/strong>, is certainly enjoyable in its own right. I\u2019d argue that what sends this flick into the stratosphere is its engagement with the Satanic Panic; the paranoid period in American history that saw occult rumblings around every corner. \u2018The Burbs does an incredible (and hilarious) job of pointing out the irony that obsessive moralism has an unmistakably cult-y, fundamentalist bent to it.<\/p>\n<p>Directed by the great <strong>Joe Dante <\/strong>(which explains why Dick Miller is in the above image),\u00a0<em>The \u2018Burbs\u00a0<\/em>is also a great watch this June because it\u2019s one of those horror films that capture the vibe that summer is around the corner. Big porch party vibes. Enormous \u201clet\u2019s have some cold brewskis on our perfectly manicured lawn\u201d energy.
