Zellnor Myrie (D-Brooklyn), who sponsored the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nyassembly.gov\/leg\/?default_fld=%0D%0A&amp;leg_video=&amp;bn=s1553d&amp;term=2021&amp;Summary=Y&amp;Actions=Y&amp;Memo=Y&amp;Text=Y\">bill\u2019s Senate version,<\/a> said he\u2019s not giving up.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnyone who knows me knows that I\u2019ve given my heart and soul to pass Clean Slate,\u201d<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/zellnor4ny\/status\/1533080353681903618\"> he tweeted Saturday. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo it goes without saying that I\u2019m beyond dis<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ointed we could not get it across the finish line this year. But hope is a discipline. We will be back. We will be better. And we will win.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If approved, the measure was expected to automatically seal more than 2 million New Yorkers conviction records.<\/p>\n<p>Proponents of the measure say ex-cons deserve a clean slate while seeking second chances \u2014 especially while trying to secure jobs.. <\/p>\n<p>However, many opponents on both sides of the political aisle have said failing to disclose prior convictions would make it difficult for employers and landlords to conduct proper background checks \u2013 potentially putting children and other vulnerable New Yorkers in jeopardy.\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
