For instance, investors have poured $369 million into Bitcoin-based investment funds in 2022. <\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Solana (SOL) and Cardano (ADA), layer-one blockchain protocols competing with Ethereum, have attracted $104 million and $9 million, respectively.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2022-06\/a14e82c2-e137-420a-b879-08ca60ff5790.png\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Flow into\/from crypto funds (by assets). Source: CoinShares\/Bloomberg<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The withdrawals from Ethereum funds are a sign of how the recent crash in TerraUSD (UST) and LUNA\u2014tokens within Terra&#8217;s algorithmic stablecoin ecosystem\u2014has dampened interest in the overall DeFi sector. <\/p>\n<p>ETH&#8217;s bullish prospects remain glued to anticipations of a boom in the DeFi market, because Ethereum&#8217;s blockchain host a majority of financial applications in the sector. As of June 5, the total valued locked (TVL) inside the Ethereum-based apps was $68.71 million, almost 65% of the total DeFi TVL.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2022-06\/f5646c83-7f50-432a-9175-e6f258a6e24e.png\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Ethereum TVL as of June 5. Source: DeFi Llama<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>But the TVL still reflects a massive retreat from Ethereum&#8217;s DeFi pools, which, before LUNA and UST&#8217;s collapse on May 9 was hovering around $100 billion.<\/p>\n<p>With macro risks led by the Federal Reserve&#8217;s hawkish policies, coupled with a cautious outlook around the DeFi sector, Ether looks poised to continue its decline in June, according to\u00a0Ilan Solot, a partner at Tagus Capital. <\/p>\n<p>He <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/c10bc6f7-abbe-45dc-9367-042186c3336f\">told<\/a> the Financial Times:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>If the Federal Reserve is tightening, the world is in recession, and people need to pay $4.5 per gallon of gas, they\u2019ll have less to invest in DeFi or spend on blockchain <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a>s<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Sluggish_technicals\"><\/span>Sluggish technicals<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Trading behavior witnessed since May also paints a bearish outlook for Ethereum.<\/p>\n<p>In detail, Ether has been fluctuating inside a range defined by a horizontal trendline support and a falling trendline resistance. The pattern looks\u00a0more or less like a &#8220;descending triangle,&#8221; a bearish continuation pattern when formed during a downtrend.<\/p>\n<p><em>Related:\u00a0Total crypto market cap risks a dip below $1 trillion if these 3 metrics don\u2019t improve<\/em><\/p>\n<p>As a rule of technical analysis, descending triangles resolve after the price breaks decisively below their support trendline and then falls by as much as the triangle&#8217;s maximum height. Source: TradingView<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>If ETH&#8217;s price breaks below the triangle&#8217;s lower trendline, it risks falling toward $1,350 in June, down about 25% from today&#8217;s price.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"ETH_reserves_on_exchanges_are_increasing\"><\/span>ETH reserves on exchanges are increasing<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The total number of Ether balances at crypto exchanges globally has increased by 550,459 ETH since May, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cryptoquant.com\/asset\/eth\/chart\/exchange-flows\/exchange-reserve?exchange=all_exchange&amp;window=DAY&amp;sma=0&amp;ema=0&amp;priceScale=log&amp;metricScale=linear&amp;chartStyle=line\">data<\/a> from CryptoQuant shows. <\/p>\n<p>That amounts to almost $950 million worth of inflows into the exchanges&#8217; hot wallets since the beginning of the Terra debacle.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2022-06\/a57d320e-4380-476f-9f50-3140d24e6bab.png\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Ethereum exchange reserves.
