Laced in the roots of poverty, war, street life, religion and (well\u2026.as the title states) \u201cRedemption\u201d, the film actually is a well rounded action drama.<\/p>\n<p>Originally titled \u201c<strong>Hummingbird<\/strong>\u201c, it was a smart move to ramp up the title a bit, for those who need something a bit stronger hitting them than its former vague association title.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-75259\" src=\"https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/redemption-2013-movie-Hummingbird-6.jpg\" alt=\"redemption-2013-movie-Hummingbird-6\" width=\"450\" height=\"287\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/redemption-2013-movie-Hummingbird-6.jpg 450w, https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/redemption-2013-movie-Hummingbird-6-400x255.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The film \u201c<strong>Redemption<\/strong>\u201d begins as homeless \u201cJoey\u201d is beaten in the streets trying to just make it thru another day. As an ex military ex-special forces soldier, Joey has leaned to adapt and survive which is how he begins his climb back up to health and prosperity. Though\u00a0 despite the thug aspect that \u201cRedemption\u201d employs, its foundation lies in serving the church and giving back to that which is achieved.<span id=\"more-75238\"\/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-75258\" src=\"https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/redemption-2013-movie-Hummingbird-5.jpg\" alt=\"redemption-2013-movie-Hummingbird-5\" width=\"450\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/redemption-2013-movie-Hummingbird-5.jpg 450w, https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/redemption-2013-movie-Hummingbird-5-400x267.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>From this angle, the film arrives in a heart-warming place that lays its base in the simplicity of survival and care. Joey, being an ex-militant\u00a0 also has a weakness for the bottle. The bottle as we are told, is his escape from being \u201cdangerous\u201d and the machine that he was made into. Rather than a common place in films that we feel compassion for one\u2019s alcohol bouts, we are made to understand just what this perception means. It is a clever play of lows to highs that populate the dramatic details of this film.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-75261\" src=\"https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/redemption-2013-movie-Hummingbird-2.jpg\" alt=\"redemption-2013-movie-Hummingbird-2\" width=\"450\" height=\"257\" srcset=\"https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/redemption-2013-movie-Hummingbird-2.jpg 450w, https:\/\/horrornews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/redemption-2013-movie-Hummingbird-2-400x228.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Joey, who begins to moniker a nickname name, \u201ccrazy Joey\u201d for his mob hired <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roach, discovers that is military talents are just what he needs to make a few dollars serving as a strong arm for the local crime scene. It\u2019s Jason Statham as we love him, fast, slick and full of cool moves, but subdued to a greater cause. As he befriends a nun who served him soup when he was down and out by the name of Cristina (Agata Buzek), the film analyzes who we are and the places we come from. In the middle they share this bond and even a short bout of romance. You might even say that \u201c<strong>Redemption<\/strong>\u201d feels like it was 2 films bought together. One being an action Statham-style movie and the second being a drama between 2 souls. Because of this, \u201credemption never feels shallow and entirely particular to any one genre. It however might be too drama rooted for those who just want to stick in another \u201c<strong>Transporter<\/strong>\u201c. Sometimes slow moving, \u201c<strong>Redemption<\/strong>\u201d is not perfect, but is still a decent experience on its own. Directed by Steven Knight, I have to recommend this movie for the action scenes mentioned. Actress Steven Knight is certainly an interesting talent who has primarily rooted herself in European films.
