Most peculiar perhaps were strange, stitch-like markings that made the fish look like it was haphazardly sewn together, \u00e0 la Frankenstein or \u201cJigsaw\u201d from \u201cThe Punisher\u201d comics. <\/p>\n<p>The ghostly sea creature baffled gawkers on the \u2019Gram, with one armchair marine biologist comparing it to a \u201cPok\u00e9mon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWow looks like a Cartoon Fish,\u201d exclaimed one fan. <\/p>\n<p>However, several sea-savvy <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a> users correctly guessed that the critter was a ghost shark \u2014 also known as a chimaera, ratfish, spook fish or rabbitfish \u2014 which is related to sharks and rays, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smithsonianmag.com\/smart-news\/rare-juvenile-ghost-shark-caught-in-new-zealands-chatham-rise-180979615\/\">according to Smithsonian magazine. <\/a>The elusive fish, which is comprised of cartilage rather than bones, is rarely seen by humans as it\u2019s found at depths between 650 and 8,530 feet, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sharktrust.org\/chimaera\">according to the UK organization Shark Trust.<\/a> In fact, despite being known to <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/sciencee\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"5\" title=\"Science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">science<\/a> for quite some time, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"
