It was straight forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Reyes said another juror was also \u201con the fence\u201d about convicting Shea.<\/p>\n<p>The businessman was charged alongside former Trump White House advisor Steve Bannon and other co-conspirators for allegedly pocketing hundreds of thousands of dollars from donors to a GoFundMe campaign dubbed \u201cWe Build the Wall.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Judge Analisa Torres declared the mistrial after the panel sent a note around 2 p.m. stating they couldn\u2019t come to a verdict.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As prosecutors and Shea\u2019s defense attorney presented evidence and argued their cases, one juror, Racquel Henry, said she saw Roberto fall asleep a number of times.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/06\/Border-Wall-Fundraiser-e1654635231215.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Timothy Shea\" class=\"wp-image-22567849\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/06\/Border-Wall-Fundraiser-e1654635231215.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/06\/Border-Wall-Fundraiser-e1654635231215.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/06\/Border-Wall-Fundraiser-e1654635231215.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Shea exits Manhattan federal court after his court case was declared a mistrial on June 7, 2022.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">AP\/John Minchillo<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>During deliberations, Henry said, Roberto raised hypotheticals about if there was more evidence in the case that was not raised at trial that could have proven Shea\u2019s innocence.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was against the government,\u201d the Bronx woman told The Post.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n    <\/aside>\n<p>\u201cHe was hung up on where the money was coming from,\u201d she added, noting that the bull-headed juror thought \u201cmaybe Trump gave him the money to fund the wall.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Another juror, Mariah Sierra, said: \u201cHe was the speculation king.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As he left the courthouse, Roberto said he felt the case shouldn\u2019t have been brought in New York as most of the money was raised outside of the state, but refused to elaborate on what h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ened during deliberations.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He then walked into New York State Civil Court, saying he had to report there to serve another jury summons.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe always respect the jury\u2019s verdict,\u201d Shea\u2019s attorney, John Meringolo, said after the mistrial was declared.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, US Attorney Damian Williams said his office plans to retry the case \u201cas soon as possible.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The mistrial, \u201c[in] no way lessens our resolve or belief in the powerful and compelling evidence that we strongly believe proves his guilt,\u201d Williams said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bannon was pardoned by former President Donald Trump soon before he left office.
