The national average climbed more than five cents Monday to $4.919 per gallon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter a blistering week of gas prices jumping in nearly every town, city, state and area possible, more bad <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> is on the horizon. It now appears not if, but when, we\u2019ll hit that psychologically critical $5 national average,\u201d GasBuddy analyst Patrick De Haan <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gasbuddy.com\/go\/gas-prices-spike-coast-to-coast-as-supply-tightens\">said in a blog post<\/a> earlier this week.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/06\/gas-88-1.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Gas prices\" class=\"wp-image-22565744\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/06\/gas-88-1.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/06\/gas-88-1.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/06\/gas-88-1.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Several more states are on the verge of hitting $5 per gallon.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Helayne Seidman<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cGasoline inventories continue to decline even with demand softening due to high prices, a culmination of less refining capacity than we had prior to COVID and strong consumption, a situation that doesn\u2019t look to improve drastically anytime soon,\u201d De Haan added.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, an analyst at JPMorgan Chase warned that gas prices could surpass $6 per gallon by the end of the summer.<\/p>\n<p>The global energy market has struggled to keep pace with demand for months as countries reopen from the COVID-19 pandemic. Some experts expect oil to climb even higher in the days ahead, leading to further pain at the pump for American motorists.<\/p>\n<p>Goldman Sachs expects Brent crude oil prices to hit an average of $140 per barrel between July and September, according <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/06\/07\/energy\/oil-prices\/index.html\">to a note to clients<\/a> obtained by CNN Business. They added that a \u201clarge spike in prices remains quite possible this summer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>President Biden has largely blamed the surge in prices on Russian President Vladimir Putin.
