The script cover lists the writers as Phillips and Scott Silver, who both penned the first installment.<\/p>\n<p>The official Warner Bros. <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> account <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/wbpictures\/status\/1534323342727073792\">also shared<\/a> Phillips\u2019 note. The Post has reached out to the studio for further confirmation and comment.<\/p>\n<p>While no sequel plot details were divulged by Phillips, the film\u2019s French subtitle <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a>ly translates as \u201cmadness for two\u201d and can mean a shared delusion between two people. Some outlets <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/collider.com\/joker-2-sequel-title-joaquin-phoenix-folie-a-deux\/\">have suggested<\/a> that could bring an appearance by the Joker\u2019s partner-in-crime, Harley Quinn, a character previously played by Margot Robbie \u2014 opposite Jared Leto\u2019s version of the Joker \u2014 in 2016\u2019s \u201cSuicide Squad.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram\"\/>\n<p>No projected release date was included in Phillips\u2019 post.<\/p>\n<p>Fans responded to the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> with both excitement \u2014 \u201cEverybody stay calm, it\u2019s happening!!\u201d one enthused Instagram commenter replied \u2014 and dread, with <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/johvin888\/status\/1534323830319194121\">one Twitter response that fretted,<\/a> \u201cI speak for everyone that we don\u2019t want a sequel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The possibility of a \u201cJoker 2\u201d was floated about a year ago when Phillips\u2019 lawyer, Warren Dern, let slip that one was in the works during an interview; however, the movie was not confirmed by Warner Bros. at the time.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Phoenix, 47, won the 2020 Academy Award for Best Actor in his role as the maniacal DC supervillain in the critically acclaimed, \u201cseriously dark urban drama\u201d about a cackling clown \u2014 a k a Arthur Fleck\u00a0 \u2014 whose criminal exploits unleashed panic throughout Gotham City.
