Starting in Windows 10 Build 18980, which is Windows 10 version 2004\u00a0and May 2020 Update, you can quickly access the list of optional updates available for your device. Microsoft today announced that ‘it is now easier for you to discover available Windows 10 feature updates, monthly non-security quality updates, and driver updates<\/em>‘ using the optional updates feature of Windows 10.<\/p>\n

Optional updates are updates aren\u2019t required to run the operating system. The OS can work as expected without installing them. However, they may enhance some of its features, or add extra options to connected devices.\u00a0Optional updates may include device drives, extra packages for Microsoft’s software like Office, and hardware. One of the examples are printer drivers that are no longer part of the Windows 10 image. Starting in Windows version 2020, May 2020 Update, it is possible to install optional updates on demand.<\/p>\n
