\n The Chicago Black Lives Matter organizer who justified looting as \u201creparation\u201d has doubled down \u2014 insisting this week that even calling someone a criminal is \u201cbased on racism.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ariel Atkins told WBEZ that her group \u201c100 percent\u201d supports the violent looters who trashed chunks of the Windy City Monday, again repeating her claim that it is \u201creparations.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe whole idea of criminality is based on racism anyway,\u201d she told the NPR station.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause criminality is punishing people for things that they have needed to do to survive or just the way that society has affected them with white supremacist BS,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

At least 13 cops were injured and 100 people arrested in violent clashes that led to a mostly black community in the troubled South Side to kick out a BLM march the next day.<\/p>\n

Atkins attacked Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot \u2014 who is black \u2014 for calling the looting \u201cstraight-up felony, criminal conduct.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s like her deciding what is criminal and what isn\u2019t,\u201d Atkins said as she suggested that calling the thieves criminals was itself a form of racism.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will support the looters till the end of the day. If that\u2019s what they need to do in order to eat, then that\u2019s what you\u2019ve got to do to eat,\u201d she said of those who even tried to smash their way into a Ronald McDonald House caring for sick children and their families.<\/p>\n

Atkins dismissed the idea that civil rights had \u201cever gotten wins\u201d from \u201cpeaceful protests.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWinning has come through revolts. Winning has come through riots,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe only people that can undermine our movement are the police, our oppressors, and then us when we don\u2019t believe in the people that we\u2019re fighting with,\u201d she told the station.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf anyone is attacking this city, it\u2019s them,\u201d she insisted of police.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd anybody who is rising up and saying, \u2018We won\u2019t take this anymore, we\u2019re going to do what we want\u2019 \u2014 those are the people that she should be trying to protect, and those are the people that she should be getting outraged for,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Atkins had no sympathy for the businesses damaged in the spree, which included a small convenience store likely to go out of business after being looted twice in months.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fact that anybody gives a s\u2013t about these businesses over what is happ<\/a>ening in this city right now and the pain that people are in and the suffering that is taking place, I don\u2019t care,\u201d she admitted.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
