rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2022\/06\/10\/justin-biebers-face-paralyzed-after-rare-disorder-diagnosis\/\">he\u2019d been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome<\/a>, a rare condition caused by a virus that \u201cattacks\u201d the nerves in his face, he explained.<\/p>\n<p>The right side of his face was immovable as he spoke, slowly, and he blinked only from the left. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is pretty serious, as you can see,\u201d he told fans in the video announcement, adding that the issue \u201chas caused my face to have paralysis.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The \u201cHonest\u201d singer added that his treatment for Ramsay Hunt syndrome has included facial exercises, to help rebuild the nerves and muscles in his face.<\/p>\n<p>His message comes following fan speculation over recent cancellations on his Justice World Tour. \u201cI\u2019m physically, obviously, not capable of doing them,\u201d he said of the postponed shows. Among those wishing him well was his longtime manager, Scooter Braun, who commented, \u201cLove you and proud of you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBieber will be OK,\u201d an insider additionally told Page Six. \u201cIt\u2019s because of an infection, paralysis in the right side. In some, only facial paralysis occurs, requiring a blood test to confirm the presence of VZV. In others, the visible inflammation may also spread to the patient\u2019s soft palate and throat. Other notable side effects include tinnitus, ear pain, and some hearing loss and, more rarely, amplified hearing, vertigo, nausea, loss of taste, dry mouth and dry eyes.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_causes_Ramsay_Hunt_syndrome\"><\/span>What causes Ramsay Hunt syndrome?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The virus can remain dormant for decades in those who have already had chickenpox as a child. Reactivation of VZV in adults can lead to both shingles and RHS \u2014 though the reason why one or the other manifests is not known, according to the NORD.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Is_Ramsay_Hunt_syndrome_treatable\"><\/span>Is Ramsay Hunt syndrome treatable?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>RHS is considered <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a>ly treatable if caught within three days of symptom onset, using antiviral medications such as acyclovir or famciclovir, alongside anti-inflammatory corticosteroids, such as prednisone. Unfortunately for some, hearing loss and paralysis could become permanent. <\/p>\n<p>Other drugs may be used to manage uncomfortable side effects, such as vertigo suppressants or neuropathic pain reducers. <\/p>\n<p>Additional care must also be taken for the eye that will not shut due to paralysis.
