Played by Henry Thomas, Elliott is the young boy who befriends E.T. before trying to help him get back home.<\/p>\n<p>In the deleted footage, Ford admonishes Elliott for freeing frogs in class.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cElliot is in the principal\u2019s office after the frog incident,\u201d Spielberg <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/movies\/2017\/03\/30\/e-t-harrison-ford-deleted-cameo-untold-story\/\">told Entertainment Weekly<\/a>. \u201cWe don\u2019t ever see Harrison\u2019s face. The director said he \u201ccame up with the idea for the movie while shooting \u2018Raiders of the Lost Ark\u2019\u201d but needed a writer, according to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.indiewire.com\/2022\/04\/steven-spielberg-harrison-ford-et-1234719099\/\">IndieWire<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>While filming \u201cRaiders of the Lost Ark\u201d in Tunisia, Spielberg asked Mathison, who was visiting Ford, to write the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">script<\/a>, according to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/steven-spielberg-details-how-harrison-ford-helped-convince-melissa-mathison-to-write-e-t-1235133891\/\">the Hollywood Reporter<\/a>. \u201cI went to Harrison and said, \u2018Your girlfriend turned me down. She doesn\u2019t want to write my next movie,\u2019\u201d Spielberg said. \u201cHe said, \u2018Well, let me talk to her.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mathison ended up writing the famous film\u2019s screenplay \u2014\u00a0and marrying Ford in 1983.
