Sean Casten&#8217;s 17-year-old daughter Gwen Casten dead&#8221;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h1>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Illinois Congressman Sean Casten\u2019s 17-year-old daughter Gwen Casten died Monday morning, his office announced. <\/p>\n<p>The U.S. representative\u2019s office released a short statement that said the teen passed away but didn\u2019t provide any further details. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis morning, Congressman Casten\u2019s beloved daughter, Gwen (17), passed away,\u201d Casten\u2019s office said. \u201cThe Casten family requests privacy, and we will be issuing no further comment during this heartbreaking time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gwen died inside the family\u2019s Downers Grove home, the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.chicagotribune.com\/news\/breaking\/ct-sean-casten-daughter-dead-20220614-givag244gjhzpedo2lfgg2lqaq-story.html\">Chicago Tribune reported<\/a>, citing local police. <\/p>\n<p>Downers Grove police were called to respond to a report of an \u201cunresponsive\u201d 17-year-old girl at a home on the block where Casten lives just before 7 a.m. The girl was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the outlet. <\/p>\n<p>Gwen was following in the footsteps of her father and fighting for social causes she cared about, her <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a> shows. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"682\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/06\/casten-daughter-dies-871.jpg?w=682\" alt=\"Gwen Casten had recently appeared in a campaign ad for her father. Marie Newman as well as Nicor operation mechanic Charles Hughes. <\/p>\n<p>Newman, a freshman congress member, has also immediately suspended her campaign ads, CBS reported. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy heart breaks for the Casten family for the devastating loss of their daughter,\u201d Newman said in a statement. \u201cMy prayers are with Sean, Kara, and the entire Casten family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Newman is running against Casten in the 2022 primary after redistricting placed her in the heavily Hispanic 3rd District represented by Rep.
