The poor girl was just 24 years old.<\/p>\n<p>When speaking with <em>Eyewitness <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">News<\/a><\/em> last month, the victim\u2019s mother <strong>Georgia Mitchell<\/strong> came forward with information on her daughter\u2019s dis<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>earance:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIt had become 24 hours since my last contact with her. When I tried to find out why she didn\u2019t respond to me it went straight to voicemail and I couldn\u2019t track her on the locator on our phones anymore. I started getting sick to my stomach.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Georgia apparently had access to a location service on her daughter\u2019s phone, which stopped working <em>before<\/em> 10pm on May 5th. It was noted earlier in the day, however, they were able to track Angela\u2019s location to Texas City \u2014 which is about 12 miles from her hometown of Dickinson. A police document said Angela\u2019s phone was last pinged to a home in the Lago Mar subdivision on the day she went missing. Her mother tracked the phone\u2019s final location ping and was able to locate Angela\u2019s car \u2014 which was parked 20 minutes away on the 400 block of Street North.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: Colorado Woman Found Dead Inside A Trash Bag Four Years After Going Missing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>She alleges she \u201cbegged\u201d police officers to search the car at the time but was dismissed:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI met police officers at her vehicle here in Texas City after filing a missing person report and I begged them. I begged them to please search my daughter\u2019s car. \u2018Please search my daughter\u2019s car. Please investigate this\u2019. I begged. I begged the police officers and they just dismissed me.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>She mentioned afterward that she didn\u2019t \u201csuspect\u201d her daughter\u2019s body was in the trunk, but she did find the location where the car was parked to be \u201cstrange\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Angela\u2019s body was discovered after residents of the Lago Mar neighborhood began complaining of a foul smell coming from the car and called police. Officers arrived on scene and opened the trunk of the car, where they found her body \u2014 6 days after her disappearance \u2014 interestingly enough, right where her mother begged police to check.<\/p>\n<p>Just awful\u2026 Well, law enforcement certainly took the case seriously after that. He was arrested during a routine traffic stop and charged with tampering\/fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair. He is currently being held on a $200,000 bond in Galveston County Jail.<\/p>\n<p>Disturbingly, Maldonado actually worked for the Galveston County Sheriff\u2019s Office as a corrections officer \u2014 meaning he\u2019s being held at his old workplace! According to Houston\u2019s\u00a0<em>ABC13<\/em>, he was relieved of duty after being charged with assault back in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Police have been contacted for a statement by <em>ABC13<\/em>, but have not released any information on how the arrest went down. It\u2019s also unclear how this man connects to the woman\u2019s death and why he was even a suspect in the first place.<\/p>\n<p>Angela leaves behind four children, two sons and two daughters. Her cause of death is still under investigation and an autopsy is underway.
