And for a moment on Tuesday it looked like they got their wish!<\/p>\n<p>Rumors went viral on Tuesday that\u00a0a source inside the studio claimed that in the wake of the <strong>Johnny Depp<\/strong> verdict \u2014 in which the jury determined she had acted in malice and defamed the actor with abuse allegations \u2014 the role of Princess Mera was being recast!<\/p>\n<p>Whoa! Amber\u2019s part had already been filmed. She\u2019s already been paid. But according to these rumors, the results of test-screenings were SO NEGATIVE toward the controversial actress that they were going to eat that loss and reshoot anyway?!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: Johnny Depp\u2019s Popularity Went DOWN Over Course Of Trial?!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The viral rumors also claimed that a new actress, presumably an Amber Heard type (paging <strong>Teresa Palmer<\/strong>\u2018s agents!), would play Mera not just in <em>Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom<\/em> but in any future\u00a0<strong>DCEU<\/strong> films as well. She previously <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>eared in\u00a0<em>Justice League<\/em> and would presumably make an appearance if they ever make a second one.<\/p>\n<p class=\"highlight\">HOWEVER\u2026<\/p>\n<p>These rumors could not be confirmed by any of the sources of industry trades like <em>Deadline<\/em> or\u00a0<em>Variety<\/em>, who usually have the inside track on these things. And since the story exploded across the internet, Amber herself has spoken out! A rep told several outlets in a biting statement:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe rumor mill continues as it has from day one \u2014 inaccurate, insensitive, and slightly insane.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It\u2019s obviously quite possible this rumor is completely inaccurate. However,\u00a0<em>insane<\/em> feels a bit too far. Actors have been fired on less evidence of abuse and replaced in the face of far less outcry than the aforementioned 4.6 million-signature petition. And considering the ramped up vitriol we\u2019ve seen directed towards Amber in the days since the verdict, the idea that several folks in early <em>Aquaman<\/em> screenings might write negative reviews of her in their score cards is actually pretty believable. We\u2019re not saying that would be fair. It just seems believable given all the negative attention going her way.<\/p>\n<p>Heck, even\u00a0<strong>Savannah Guthrie<\/strong> went pretty hard at Heard on the <em>Today<\/em> show. In a preview of Friday\u2019s interview, the morning show anchor can be seen grilling Amber on the audio tapes in which she admits to starting fights and even physically abusing Johnny. Guthrie pushes:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI\u2019m looking at a transcript where he says, \u2018You start physical fights\u2019 and you said, \u2018I did start a physical fight. I can\u2019t say I won\u2019t start one again.\u2019 This is in black and white. I understand context, but you testified you never started a physical fight and here you are on tape saying you did.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Amber responds:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cAs I testified on the stand, when your life is at risk, not only will you take the blame for things that you shouldn\u2019t take the blame for, but when you\u2019re in an abusive dynamic \u2014 psychologically, emotionally, and physically \u2014 you don\u2019t have the resources that say you or I do with the luxury of saying, \u2018This is black and white\u2019 because it\u2019s anything but when you\u2019re living in it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>At the end of the day, the jury clearly didn\u2019t believe her. And obviously a lot of folks online didn\u2019t either.<\/p>\n<p>Did Warner Bros really weigh those reactions and take action? We\u2019ll just have to wait until WB makes it official, one way or the other.
