An hour later, 19 children and two adults were killed in a shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas just 45 minutes from her home in San Antonio. She felt compelled to do what she could to help.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t feel comfortable not doing something for my community,\u201d Rosa said in a Zoom interview.<\/p>\n<p>To aid the victims and families affected by the tragedy, Rosa <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/gspawn.com\/pages\/thunder-rosas-ring-worn-gear-from-2022-aew-title-match\">is auctioning off the full ring gear <\/a>\u2014 with the help Gold &amp; Silver Pawn shop made famous by the show \u201cPawn Stars\u201d \u2014 that she wore for her successful title defense against Serena Deeb at AEW\u2019s Double or Nothing pay-per-view. The winner will get her headpiece, robe, boots and everything else along with an 8\u00d710 photo signed by Rosa, Deeb and referee Aubrey Edwards. The current bid is $5,000 with all proceeds going to the families through Victims First. Bidding closes Friday at 11:59 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know I couldn\u2019t be there physically to tell the families that I feel for them,\u201d Rosa said. \u201cBut it\u2019s something, even if it\u2019s a grain of salt, it\u2019s gonna help them.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/06\/9825282_06132200355328.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"AEW\" class=\"wp-image-22653164\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/06\/9825282_06132200355328.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/06\/9825282_06132200355328.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/06\/9825282_06132200355328.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Thunder Rosa is auctioning off her gear from Double or Nothing to help the families affected the the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">AEW<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The gear being auction has a Day of the Dead \u2014 D\u00eda de los Muertos in Mexico \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">theme<\/a>, and Rosa wrote Uvalde on the large, multicolored \u201csacred heart\u201d necklace she wore that day because she \u201cwanted to represent those kids and the teachers and the community.\u201d The sacred heart was also a nod to Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, who used the symbol often in her work.<\/p>\n<p>She said her own community in Texas has already mobilized to do what they can, whether it\u2019s collecting Plushies to bring to the families, the local <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a> keeping people up to date about how they can help and having conversations about training for the students and teachers to leave them better protected. Rosa, who has a 16-year-old son in school in Texas, said parents need to be mindful of the training their kids are receiving and the expectations they have for leaders of their school district. In her mind, there should not be a wait to make changes at the grassroots level as the government\u2019s debate on gun laws plays out.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram\"\/>\n<p>\u201cThere are a lot of things that are in a bigger scope that is a lot harder to change,\u201d she said. \u201cWe have to change what is immediate for us and we can protect our kids in our communities and our schools.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rosa, the first Mexican born woman to win a world title in a major U.S. wrestling promotion, has made community work and helping young people a priority throughout her life. She is active with AEW community outreach team and was a social worker before turning to wrestling full-time. It is one of the things that motivates her to keep giving back. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSeeing that there were some success within the kids that I worked with, I know I left a great impression on them,\u201d Rosa said. \u201cI continue to do that because you never know who you are inspiring and who you\u2019re moving by the things that you\u2019re doing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Her hope is that others will be moved to bolster her efforts to help the families in Uvalde by bidding on her gear.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou get all my love and my gratitude forever,\u201d Rosa said. \u201cAnd the most important part is you are helping 20 families in Uvalde, Texas that are suffering badly from their losses.
