It\u2019s completely interactive, so click on a location in the world and you will im<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>tely connect to it. It\u2019s probably to simply enter the location you want in the search bar: just enter the name of the country or city and NordVPN will show if it has a server there. Double VPN servers purport to make your connection twice as secure\u2014something that we\u2019re not sure is exactly true, though it makes for excellent marketing copy.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-802779\" data-pagespeed-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/nordvpn-specialty-servers.png?trim=1,1&amp;bg-color=000&amp;pad=1,1\" alt=\"NordVPN specialty servers\" width=\"196\" height=\"163\" src=\"\/pagespeed_static\/1.JiBnMqyl6S.gif\" onload=\"pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\" onerror=\"this.onerror=null;pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The next option is Onion over VPN, which supposedly makes your Tor connection extra superduper secure\u2014again, we\u2019re not exactly sure what this adds, but it looks cool, we guess.<\/p>\n<p>More interesting are NordVPN\u2019s P2P or torrent servers, which are the best way to torrent files when using the service. Why you can\u2019t use regular servers is a mystery to us, but we\u2019ve long given up getting an answer to this question out of NordVPN. If you\u2019re a NordVPN customer and are torrenting, best use them.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"NordVPN_Settings\"><\/span>NordVPN Settings<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>With the basics out of the way, let\u2019s tackle a look at some of NordVPN\u2019s settings. The menu is accessed through the gear icon at the very bottom left of the screen.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-802780\" data-pagespeed-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/nordvpn-settings.png?trim=1,1&amp;bg-color=000&amp;pad=1,1\" alt=\"NordVPN's settings screen\" width=\"650\" height=\"372\" src=\"\/pagespeed_static\/1.JiBnMqyl6S.gif\" onload=\"pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\" onerror=\"this.onerror=null;pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Note that if you\u2019re not sure what a setting does, we recommend you don\u2019t change it. While some of the options are perfectly innocuous, messing with anything under the \u201cadvanced\u201d tab has the potential to ruin your day.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-802781\" data-pagespeed-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/nordvpn-advanced-settings.png?trim=1,1&amp;bg-color=000&amp;pad=1,1\" alt=\"NordVPN's advanced settings\" width=\"650\" height=\"292\" src=\"\/pagespeed_static\/1.JiBnMqyl6S.gif\" onload=\"pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\" onerror=\"this.onerror=null;pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\"\/><\/p>\n<p>However, one thing you should change as soon as you install the client is the kill switch, which will \u201ckill\u201d your internet connection whenever the VPN server fails for any reason. Every VPN user benefits from this feature, but torrenters and people escaping censorship, in particular,\u00a0need the switch to be on. We honestly have no idea why NordVPN decided why it should be off by default.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-802782\" data-pagespeed-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/nordvpn-killswitch.png?trim=1,1&amp;bg-color=000&amp;pad=1,1\" alt=\"NordVPN killswitch\" width=\"650\" height=\"294\" src=\"\/pagespeed_static\/1.JiBnMqyl6S.gif\" onload=\"pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\" onerror=\"this.onerror=null;pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Other handy settings include letting NordVPN automatically switch on under specific circumstances. These include whenever the computer is switched on, or just when connected to WiFi. This last one is a pretty good idea if you work from public WiFi connections a lot.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-802783\" data-pagespeed-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/nordvpn-auto-connect.png?trim=1,1&amp;bg-color=000&amp;pad=1,1\" alt=\"auto connect with NordVPN\" width=\"650\" height=\"370\" src=\"\/pagespeed_static\/1.JiBnMqyl6S.gif\" onload=\"pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\" onerror=\"this.onerror=null;pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The last of the basic options is the ability to configure split tunneling, which lets you decide which apps should use the VPN connection and which shouldn\u2019t. Again, we don\u2019t recommend you mess with this unless you know what you\u2019re doing, but torrenters especially should like this setting.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Getting_Started_with_NordVPN\"><\/span>Getting Started with NordVPN<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>That should be all you need to get started with NordVPN, if you need more advanced guides or help with a specific issue, check out the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.anrdoezrs.net\/links\/3607085\/type\/am\/sid\/802769\/https:\/\/support.nordvpn.com\/\">service\u2019s support page<\/a>.
