Siegel denied the prosecution\u2019s motion on June 6 to require Fredo to answer questions related to Melly\u2019s case. Judge Siegel made the decision after Fredo continuously invoked his fifth amendment right to protect himself from self-incrimination. (@fredobang)<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors believe YNW Melly called Fredo Bang to pick him up after he allegedly murdered Chris Thomas (YNW Juvy) and Anthony Williams (YNW Sakchaser) on October 26, 2018. The prosecution sought to establish a timeline on Fredo\u2019s whereabouts the night of the alleged murders and was hoping to find out if Fredo did actually pick up Melly. They also wanted to verify his phone numbers and have him provide the identities of other individuals they believe he was with the night of the murders.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am representing Mr. Fredrick Givens in The State of Florida vs. Jamell Demons,\u201d Fredo\u2019s attorney Dameka Davis told\u00a0<em>XXL <\/em>in a statement. \u201cI represented Mr. Givens in the capacity of him being a witness. He has not been charged with any crime by the state of Florida. Mr. Givens has exercised his right to remain silent and the court ultimately granted Mr. Givens\u2019 request.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"p-message_pane_message__message_label c-message_kit__labels c-message_kit__labels--light\">\n<div class=\"c-message_kit__gutter\">\n<div class=\"c-message_kit__gutter__right\" role=\"presentation\" data-qa=\"message_content\">\n<div class=\"c-message_kit__blocks c-message_kit__blocks--rich_text\">\n<div class=\"c-message__message_blocks c-message__message_blocks--rich_text\" data-qa=\"message-text\">\n<div class=\"p-block_kit_renderer\" data-qa=\"block-kit-renderer\">\n<div class=\"p-block_kit_renderer__block_wrapper p-block_kit_renderer__block_wrapper--first\">\n<div class=\"p-rich_text_block\" dir=\"auto\">\n<div class=\"p-rich_text_section\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The statement continued, \u201cMr. Givens does not intend to cooperate with the prosecution of this case, but Mr. Givens will fully comply with the law, both state and federal law\u2026We do wish Jamell Demons all the best and we are hoping for a fair and impartial outcome in the resolution of his case.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s been three years since\u00a0YNW Melly\u00a0was\u00a0arrested and accused\u00a0of murdering YNW Juvy Thomas Jr. and YNW Sakchaser, but on April 4 the jury selection process officially\u00a0got underway.\u00a0However, Melly has been waiting indefinitely to face a judge, as\u00a0<em>Complex<\/em>\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.complex.com\/music\/ynw-melly-murder-trial-what-to-expect-explained\/\">reported<\/a>\u00a0that due to \u201cunresolved legal issues,\u201d the start of the trial was delayed, with no new date announced yet.
