He detailed living with the debilitating ailment in a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=aW4d0lGHkeQ\">YouTube documentary by Rare Shot News.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cChildren got scared of me,\u201d said Majibar Rehman Malik, 25, in the clip. The Bihar, West Bengal, native suffers from <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cedars-sinai.org\/health-library\/diseases-and-conditions\/e\/erythroderma.html\">erythroderma<\/a>, also known as <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a>ized exfoliative dermatitis, a severe and potentially fatal inflammation of most of the surface area of the patient\u2019s skin. <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uptodate.com\/contents\/erythroderma-in-adults#:~:text=Erythroderma%20(literally%2C%20%22red%20skin,in%20the%20most%20common%20definition).\">Affecting only 1 per 100,000 people annually<\/a>, the epidermal ailment is caused by a variety of factors, including adverse reactions to medicine and preexisting conditions like skin cancer \u2014 but can also develop spontaneously.<\/p>\n<p>Sufferers generally experience very red skin all over the body, itchy scaly red patches and crusty sores. However he said when his parents took him to the clinic, \u201cthe doctors didn\u2019t know about the disease.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They advised the family to go to a bigger facility, however, the family is reportedly unable to afford the exorbitant hospital bill.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of his snake-like affliction, Malik\u2019s skin sloughs off every few days, and he\u2019s covered nearly head to foot in scaly patches, as seen in the video. <\/p>\n<p>While the symptoms improve in the summer, \u201cin the winter the skin becomes dry and cracks,\u201d Malik lamented.
